He meant to upload your file in the public_html folder in your FTP (so it appears live on your site).

ehm... i think you should probably read some guides or something. unfortunately, i don't know where you should start at.

assuming you have Nvu and made a site from that, you'll need to save it and upload it to your server, into the public_html folder (cpanel/da)
    or httpdocs (plesk)

it's one thing to make a site. the next is to get it hosted (on the web).

    may i recommend x10hosting (x10hosting.com/hosting)

if you have trouble they are more than happy to help you get started...

There are a lot of step by step tutorials online. I learned many years ago at htmlgoodies.com. You can also spend some time at the library or local book store. I know it can seem overwhelming at first but there will come a day when it will all seem to start to fall into place.

The public_html folder is where your web content is stored at your web host. Everything stored in that folder is visible on your website. You will need to FTP (file transfer protocol) into your server. There are plenty of free ftp programs to choose from. It is just a way to transfer files from your computer to your server.

Take it one step at a time or you will drive yourself crazy. Don't give up, once you get the hang of it then it will be yours for life.

If you really can't make that happen, pay someone to teach you or get it up for you... i mean a real person not a book...

Yea u can publish pages form c panel but it is not the right way to publish the page. Try to use FTP program for uploading your file to your server. It is the most popular and easiest way. :)

You certainly can do it through cpanel. I've done it. But i find it easier for me through an ftp program. I use Filezilla but i still do use cpanel at times.

Let me know if you need any help.

For anyone in this position who just frustrates easily but wants a site online, I usually suggest Wordpress to them. This way, they can have their site online instantly and they can start working on what matters most to them, publishing their content.

    Just a suggestion.
