How Increase Traffic to my site

SO my site has been around for a couple month now and short of pay per click advertising thats the only traffic tha ti get to te site. I was just wondering if anyone could give me any suggestions as to the best way to increase the organic traffic to my site. The site is www.myislandjob.com. Thanks for your help

 

1. for starters, add the link into your forum signature.

2. Then focus on SEO, This is search engine optimization. Just google it, you will find many sources online to help optimize your site for search engines.

3. Look into link exchanges with other websites like yours

4. try press releases

5. write articles about your sites main subject and leave a link to your site

6. Advertise on craigslist.org

7. Search craigslist.org for people that may be looking for your site, and email them.

These are a few basic elements that will help you receive traffic. The main thing you need is patience, because it wont happen over night.

and try to improve your convention rate, using good web copy, I saw on your web site there is no headline and what the benefit for your costumer. and also try ppc to drive traffic to your web site

 

Start by trying to get some keywords in your page titles, page descriptions, H1 tags, and in the text of your pages. Right now the only thing you have in your page title is your brand name. Not too many people will be searching for your brand...until you get noticed. Think about other keywords people would use to search with. Get those words in your pages. Then start building links back to your pages with those same keywords. It takes some time, but you'll start getting organic traffic if you work at it a little every day.

 

I agree the first step is do keyword research to determine keyword phrases you want to focus on. Then re-write your title and meta tags to be keyword rich.

I don't think anyone has mentioned submitting to directories. The Yahoo Directory is $299 a year I believe and worth it. However, they must approve your submission or no go and you don't get your money back (they'll tell you what to change but read their terms and conditions).

The trick is to submit using keywords and mix them up some.

There are many people on Digital Point who offer services like this as well as article distribution services. These are important to build links and traffic to your site.

Another way is to find blogs that are about the subject and leave comments with keywords and/or links back to your site. Just make sure you're adding value to the discussion or the blogger will hate you for spamming them.

You yourself answered the question. Organic traffic could only be obtained by organic promotion. Start with SEO which is purely organic promotion. As it is a natural process it would definately take time but would give robust results.

Do the natural things in optimizing a webpage. Article, Site, blog Submission, Social bookmaking, Blog comment, Link Building, Ads Posting etc. Double your time and effort in doing these things. I will assure you, you will have a higher traffic. This is proven and tested already.
