I think you should seriously consider getting quality backlinks which have connection with relevant sites. Make sure the content you post to get backlinks is as important as the one on your website. I'm sure this will help you improve your rank.

You could try mass search engine submits. If you Google "free search engine submission" you will see lots of links to these services. It improves your traffic and your ranking but you have to be disciplined and make sure you resubmit every 3-4 weeks. Negatives: Most of them have "premium" upsells, but you don't have to take up those offers. If you decide to give it a try, make sure you open a throw away gmail or vib.me account because your inbox will be hit. (this is the price you pay for free stuff). Another thing I use every day is Pingler, it is free or they also have a premium upsell. Hope this helps.
