It's very important to have your keyword in the domain name, or a highly relevant word. Although if you can't manage to get the exact keyword domain, you could always make sub pages such as www.similarkeyword.com/keyword
Right, sub pages dont work well try to use sub domains. And for good SEO its very important to have your keywords in the domain name.
I personally love having keyword-rich domain names, but describing it as a very important factor - that I disagree with. It is a factor taken into consideration by the search engines, but much less than many people will have you believe. "But then why do so many keyword rich domains appear near the top of SERPs?" - quite simply because the people using keyword-rich domains are obviously thinking about SEO specifically, so are more likely to invest more time, money and effort into this practice. If you're running a site that isn't specifically branded and thus won't get type-in traffic, then a keyword-rich domain is great. You'll have your domain counting toward on-page keyword relevancy and it will be easier to get your desired anchor text in links (especially with directories). However, if you have a product, service or organisation that is recognised by name then I'd strongly advise having your company name as your domain. The SEs place much more importance on other factors (such as title, domain authority, quality/quantity of links) than they do your domain name, so you can easily out-do a competitor with a keyword rich domain by tightening up your on-page elements and building a storng, relevancy focussed link campaign. Going back to my first point, I love keyword-rich domains... but it will by no means give you a significant advantage over able competitors when it comes to SEO.
Question for you .. So when was the last time you found something with the wrong keyword? That is very important to start on the right foot per-say. Good Luck.. Tk
It is important if you want to rank high for it. Not only bec of Google's algorithm but also bec people who link to you often use your website name as anchor text...
Keyword in Domain.... wow. It is Good. I never agree with those who says keyword in domain is not so important. I did an experiment in past. I took two domains -- (1) with keyword in domain and (2) no keyword in domains (like -- asiudfasufohsn.com) I put exactly same title for both. title had keyword twice. Then I use the keyword on home page of both domain exactly with same frequency and prominence. I made equal number of links by taking link to both domains from other sites (In fact from same page) After some time..... google indexed both domains.. and I was just surprised to see the the domain which have keyword in domain rank much higher than the other domain. You said it right. sub-domains do work better than sub-pages. But still I'll prefer sub-pages for following reasons --- (1) Sub-domains is completely different site and seo need to be done separately (2) When we promote inner pages.. it is the promotion of whole site. (3) Bigger site simply more resources ....better ranks.
I have to say that it does matter - perhaps not the only item long term, but it does have some short term value. We had a client project in which the domain name had the keyword in it and when searched it was the one item that was caught early in the SERP process. While there is value in this process one thing that seems to get missed the most about domain names is to coordinate it with a branding campaign for your business, product or service. Too often we find that domain names have no brand specific value. You would need to decide if you are focusing on SERP/SEO or if you are trying to focus on developing a brand.
Great guys. I think I will definently use a keyword rich domain, because my main purpose is SEO, not branding.
I think it's very important to have your keyword in the domain name. This way can help you get high ranking in the searching result list.
