Would you exchange a pr4 subpage with a pr3 homepage link? How important to have a link from homepage?
it is always good to have link from high page rank pages. i suggest you to take that as your homepage PR is 3.
The homepage is the center of all the "Link Juice" of a website. However, if the inner page of the other person has more link juice than your homepage, then it's a good idea. PR is not always the best method to calculate the popularity of a page/domain/website. Also you will give away some of your website's "Juice" if you place too many do-follow links on your homepage. My advice: don't do it to often, and buy any affordable backlink service around if you really want to boost SERP.
I will ask now more specific. I give sometimes a link from a pr4 subpage in exchange with a link from a pr3 homepage? or links from pr5 subpages in exchange with pr4 homepages? I am doing this because I have lots of subpages but not so many homepages? Should I go on doing this?
Home page is the very important page of a website.. Homepage is the summary of your whole webpages and all of your navigation are in the homepage that's why links are very important..
As far as i understand. It is not a big deal. I can give pr5 subpage in exchange with pr 4 homepage. This is normal. I would be glad if i hear some more advices. Thanks.
Obviously I do if the site/page is relevant to my site and if it is a quality backlink (i.e. from original, unique contented pages/sites).
You know the saying… “Content is King†— you might have a pretty web site which will catch someone’s eye, but if the content is no good, you can be willing to bet that they aren’t going to stick around. When writing the copy for your web site, it’s important to provide helpful, knowledgeable information about your company, products, services, etc. If you’re running a blog, informative articles related to your area of expertise are incredibly helpful as well.
What it comes down to is the page strength. I'd rather get a link on a stronger, more heavily linked, higher PR inner page then on a lower PR'ed and less linked homepage. The thing is most of the times it's the homepage that gets most of the links and thus most of the times it's the homepage that has the highest PR.
An important aspect of SEO is being linked from pages with few links. I would rather have a link from a PR3 home page with 5 links than a PR4 links directory with 50.
