How important is the unique content for SEO?

Hi all,

I really want to know, how important is actually the unique content in a website's SEO? I just started a website, where I post maybe 6 or 7 new articles a week, but today, as I was thinking about the it's future development, this question popped up in my mind.

Unique content is very important in SEO not just SEO but for your website too, because if you have unique content you will attract more real visitors on your website who are interested in reading your contents. So its a win-win situation if you have a unique content. No one wants to read the same content over and over again.

This is not entirely true. If this was the case then so many millions of pages on authoritative sites like ezine, sitegrowth, and other article directories and databases would get nothing. However, They get amazing count of visitors which we cannot imagine!

Duplicate content is bound by rules, if you follow it, it won't affect you much. But yes, if someone asks which performs better, unique content or duplicate, then unique content with proper SEO performs better.

 

What I mean is if you took an article that was published on ezines and already was indexed then your page probably wouldn't get indexed, especially if it had already been syndicated to other sites.

Why would Google index the same thing more than a few times, you would still get Google traffic to the other pages on your site but that particular page wouldn't be indexed so people wouldn't find it.

 

You're right in that he didn't explain it correctly, although the sentiment is correct. Duplicate content gets indexed like everything else, it just won't rank for anything. And hence, won't help you make any money.

Go to google, search for ANY money making term, and report back if you can find a dupe on page one.

In my own experiences, fresh niche relative page contents would be OK enough for SERP purpose while unique page contents would be also helpful for your PR in the long run.

Try submitting the same article to lots of directories, build links to them, bookmark them whatever you want but only a couple will get indexed, never mind ranked.

 

I personally believe that unique content is very, very important for SEO.

unique content is very important for both your website and the articles directories you send your articles to; is that a reason why many of them also require unique content only.

 

I agree with you my friend contents that seems to be duplicated are not indexed by G anymore
