How important is the name of domain for Google?

How important it is to google the name? For example: I want to buy a new domain name and the word I searched already taken. Say godaddy (dot) com. If I choose godaddy1 (dot) com will be a problem for Google? To be penalized or my domain to suffer? Content of the website will be a unique, there are no texts copied( Although we have the same theme ... web hosting and domain purchase) As far as I know, both fields have the same value in adsense, and no problems. Can some help?

They're a couple issues with this example.
    1. You should choose a name you can Brand yourself.
    2. It's difficult to remember if you add a number to it. What if they type this godaddyone(.)com instead of the "1". Most people will forget to add a number because it's rare. So you'll probably be giving godaddy(.)com a lot of your traffic.
    3. With near identical names you'll both be competing for that "Brand" name. Why not create your own Brand?

You won't get penalized but it's just a bad idea in general.

Just as a follow up, it'll be even harder to brand if your name is Godaddy1 because you'll:

    1) be competing with a company that is already trademarked (making it harder, if not impossible, to trademark your own brand)
    2) have to explain to potential customers / users that you're separate from GoDaddy (already starting you out with a negative position)

I am a firm believer in not using numbers or hyphens in domain names.

in terms of ranking sometimes it can help if your keyword is in your domain. However, in order to avoid over optimization of money keywords I tend to use more made up brand names for my domain names and leave the money keywords out. So Godaddy1.com would be fine. But users might think it is a bit sketchy!

Before chosing your domain name same as keywords don't forget this Google update
"EMD update targets sites with exact-match keywords, it appears to spare sites that have strong brand recognition and high-quality content. Sites with exact-match domains that are likely to be hit are those that were obviously purchased or registered just for the sake of ranking a site to make easy money."
So just using your own brand name is much better than exact keywords that are used by others also and has higher competition also.

    Think-Out-Of-The-Box....
    1. What do you REALLY WANT...Branding YOURSELF/SITE/PRODUCT or GODADDY (Godaddy1/one)?
    2. Once anyone type "godaddy" even before inserting "1"...google or any search engine will list out "goddady" and you will be ranking after 10 pages or even more. Do you want that to happen?
Believe in yourself, Take your time to think about it. Decision is YOURS.
    All the best.
    Cheers

As per my experience and knowledge domain name has smuch great importance in Google's eye. Most imp things to consider are that your domain
    1) must contain alphabets only, no numbers or other characters
    2) must contain some keyword related to your business

If you cannot register the proper keyword search term as a .com then your domain won't be efficient for generating type-in traffic and you should focus on a unique brand name .com. Don't register anything but a .com without numbers or dashes that is not likely to be confused with another existing brand, this will help you get return traffic. You can put keywords in your content titles and if the content is good people will look at your brand name, remember it, and hopefully recommend it to others.

Incorrect. A .com is no different than a .net or .org when it comes to organic traffic. A .com would make a difference in direct type-in traffic.

I mis-spoke and meant to say type-in traffic, I will correct. I appreciate you understood my underlying argument, this is exactly why editors exist.

Notwithstanding the mis-statement I do not agree that search engines treat .com, .net and .org equally, I would love to see a study proving or disproving your hypothesis. I purchase and register domains almost every week and never acquire anything but .com's unless I already own the .com. If I were creating the ranking algorithm I would factor in the extension in relation to the type of website, for example an e-commerce site with the golfshoes.com domain would rank higher than golfshoes.org or golfshoes.net given the sites are otherwise equivalent. To me this is obvious and I think Google and the other search engine ranking algorithms would confirm my hypothesis. Again I would love to see if anyone has done a substantial analysis of this matter.

No one agree that keyword on domain is death? I've been learned from my friend about this since the end of 2012. He earned thousand dollar each day, $2500-$3000, from some websites without keyword on domain.. Today, we have to do some research about it. .

Being associated with a well-known brand/domain may seem like a good idea at first, but as many already pointed out, it's not. Strive to be original. Surely, you can think of a domain name that is unique and will not cause people to confuse your business with another.

Just to lay the Keyword domain and extensions to rest. See the attachment, this site ranks on the first page for the keywords and also has them in the domain name. Plus it's a .info
So no it doesn't matter if you have a keyword domain or if it's not a .com. They can still rank well.

4 years back, Domain name was very useful but at these days keywords in domain not give any advantages.
In my last company, our boos buy domain name http://webdesigningcompany.com of $ 999. It was in ranking with keyword "Web Designing Company" but after the Google update of Exact match domain. Its effect the ranking of the website and now its not any more in ranking with keyword "Web Designing Company" .

It would be hard to work with godaddy1 (as in your example). Be sure to even check with "-" between words or something like this. Best way is to think about something unique, but if you can't find anything, this should work (it will only be a little bit hard, but if you work often on your website, it should be effective! :)

As per my opinion domain name is play a vital role in the internet marketing and online business. You need to choose easy name which is any one easily remember that then you need to choose name related your business themes so that when any one see or read your domain name easily understand and get idea if your business. Relevant domain name also get top rank easily in the search engine with organic search results.

According to my knowledge there is quite problem if u go with same domain name which have market already , the problems are
go daddy already have good name in the market so so traffic to your site becomes problem
no body knows yours your site which is quite similar to go daddy so visitors and customers knowing your site is not up to mark, my suggestion is go with different user name which gets traffic and new to customer so that they can feel new thing in your site and don't copy their theme choose another theme and design tour site which makes u brand, and good image in the market,
