hi everybody, justwondering how much google values the name of any domain name. does the domain matter? e.g. www.windows.com "would i come #1 for "windows" with bad content? thanks
The domain name matters, but it is obviously not the only thing Google takes into consideration while computing rankings. In your example, yes you could come first, but the absence of good content will see your visitors hit the exit button seconds after they come in.
No, that won't be enough to rank high. The domain name is not as important as quality backlinks from authority sites.
The domain name matters than any other other thing to help you in the long run on the search pages. So don't take that for granted.
domain names r importent, but not enough for getting top listed if competitor is huge.. as u can see if u search for USA , then first result came from wiki, not usa.gov
It is not only the SEO value. A brandable domain name will certainly give a good impression to the visitors.
Getting a domain name similiar to your major keyword will be an added advantage in getting to the top of search results. But content, site structure , link popularity are also important. If you think t hat just taking a domain name matching to your keyword will put you on the top of SERP then you are absolutely wrong.
There are two major reasons to pick a domain name with your keywords in it. First, the search engines do weight the domain name in their algorithms. Second...and most important IMHO...is that many people who give you a natural link will simply use your domain name as the anchor text. If you simply have a brand without keywords you'll be giving link juice to your brand instead of your keywords. So try to get your keywords as a part of your brand then get that domain.
hi buddy the domain name is a thing of extreme importance but the backbone of your website is the content and the quality of backlinks it has I think these are the main things that count for a good PR ankur
