To achieve high ranking in the serps is it very important for the website to be several years old? Or can new sites get top rankings just as easily?

It isn't as much the age of the site as the age of good links toward your site. You won't get good rankings for at least 6 months, depending on the topic.

It is of great help when it comes to domain age. You might be in industry where there are lot of old sites and it may boil down to the age of domains for you to rank against them.

It's not the age of the site; it's the content + how many relevant links it has.

yes, but as stated earlier: a parked domain is no more valuable than a brand new one. The links contain the real value.

I'd be interested to know what the limit of the age bonus is. There must be an age that content/links reach where they gain no further benefit from their longevity, otherwise the top of the SERPs will just end up as a museum to websites that have been around since circa 1834. How long do you think a link needs to age before it passes maximum juice?

A high search engine for a new site is not that possible building your links bu first building your traffic using other marketing methods will be useful.

Hi, at least a well managed old web site will not drop that fast if you stop to update it comparing to a new domain well managed and then neglected! So in these terms - you better have an old domain, in most cases, its good to build on old domain name :)

    Good Luck!

Age of the site and how long you have the domain registered for does play some importance to the overall SERP. However, that is combined with many other factors. Original content with unique relation to your niche and good solid links from related niche sites are most important.

The key factor that age plays is to show that your site is not just a quick in quick out site. If all other factors are the same for two different sites of the same niche and keywords, normally the oldest site will rank higher.

I stress this applies only if all other factors are equal!

Mostly old sites are established one....That's why they rank well even without optimization.. That's also domain age and authority...

I think age has the advantage but sometimes it depends on site optimization.
