SERP is very important since it bring you more natural traffic if your SERP is good PR do not affect SERP much

I disagree. Many company looks at PR in terms of reputability. Sure you can gain high rank in serps with a PR1 but major company and top class sites always have high PR. High PR also means higher spider activity and I have found out it even effects the Yahoo SERP for my site. As in term of Google I would assume from my experience its effects pretty later causing webmaster to assume that PR does not affect their Google ranking. PR is also helpful when you want to sell your site. Selling ads or links also requires a good PR. Though selling links is discouraged. For me exchanging links is better and as higher PR sites would have no prob to exchange links with our high PR sites then we can also benefit SEO and traffic from other sites we link with. In a nutshell PR is important or they won't put the pagerank term in Google's description However, you need to stay focus and as the posts above says don't target PR as an aim but just a small proof of your site's success. If you really want to boost your SERPS, you will have to focus on other things such as linkbuilding and other reputation building strategies.
I heard pagerank described once as not necessarily affecting where you rank, but whether you rank meaningfully at all. I think that's a StomperNet quote.

no it's can't happen that if you have high PR then your sites ranked high with SERPS. PR is because of your Traffic, and On Page Factor affected while SERPS comes with Good link building.

for top 10 ranking if we go through google guideline then, there are at least 1000 factors that they count, so PR is just 1/1000 part of that factor in serp, ya PR can help you to sell link, in link exchange you can good links if you have higher PR.
