I recently lost alot of my serps rankings after the algo update. I asked my old indian crappy seo why this was and he said that I need to do on-page seo website again. I thought backlinks were the most of it? What can I do for on-page seo work to get my rankings back?
On-site SEO is just as important, if not more important as off-site SEO. You need to optimise your pages for the keywords and keyphrases you wish to achieve results from. There is no real such thing as doing on-site SEO "again", once it is done, it should be done, by all means add more pages, but optimising for some keywords then re-optimising for different keywords is futile. You'd be going around in circles. Look up link structure and keywords, they are probably the most important on-site SEO tactics out there.
onsite SEO is just one of the many factors to be considered for SERP, and I must say, if you have done it right once, you wont need to do anything to it again for a long time. I don't buy what your SEO company say. Sounds like an excuse to me
Ya, backlinks are more important. BUT , keywords, title, URL, Domain, Alt tags, Headers, paragraph, navigation, download Speed are all important. Well, I've mentioned only 9 point. But, they are the most important ones. And, Google do look at the ease of navigation. If you can inter-link all your pages without going too deep then it'll DEFINITELY help in SERP. I hope it help.
Well if you have to do it again, then better start implementing it right away. Maybe this time you will have much more better idea of doing it well.
What did the guy mean when he said you "have to do on-site SEO again"? Did you hire him to do backlinks only, or modify your site to be optimized for the search engines? In any case, implementing on-site SEO if you've never done it, is actually much easier than off-site SEO (finding sites, commenting, article submissions, etc), especially if your site is powered by WordPress. There's so many FREE plugins that you could just install and run in minutes. I'd estimate that you can implement most of those on-site SEO within half an hour just by using those plugins. nokimchen has pointed you in the right direction on where to start.
If it's the site in your sig file then OFF site will help most, (but not the way you have been doing it), since the page changes content so quickly. Page Code wise, put that looooong "script" near the top in to an external file. STOP spamming blog comments etc ... a google search for "confessionhub.com" (with quotes) shows most of your links are from spam. the link: command shows 2 links of any value. Cut out the spam and get some links of value, and add some reasonable content to your site that does not change with every post, ie, some fixed pages that people might see some value in linking to.
It's unlikely that your on-page SEO has anything to do with your recent descension in the SERPS. In my experience on-page SEO for the sake of pure rankings is not very involved. The most important factors are very clear - first and asolutely foremost - TITLE. Your title must reflect your keywords, point blank. Page content - I've found that on-page content has very little value. Now I'm not saying it's of no value, I'm saying that you don't need to break your KW saturation down to an exact science and get your calculator out to figure your percentages, I'm saying that even if you just mention your keyword a couple of times, this has been enough for me to rank pages in the top 5 results where there have been millions of result pages and tens of thousands of intitle competition. I have been able to get pages to rank in the top 5 for keyphrases that didn't appear at all in the body content of the page, but were in only the title, and page description. Just make sure you've got your titles covered, check your page for any obscene code errors (broken jscript, etc) and keep building links.
Hi, gotshot26 I think the title tag, meta description tag and page content are the top 3 issues for on page SEO jobs. BTW, only building backlinks would not keep your sites on top of Google or other engines, IMO. Have a nice day,
Backlinks is a power and on page is a engine . There are some important things about on page. 1. keywords 2. Title 3. URL 4. Domain Name 5. Alt tags 6. Headers 6. Paragraph
On page seo is really very important just like off page optimization. Its about how you use your keywords, the usage of meta and description tags, Heading tags etc. And personally thinking its slightly difficult. If you are expert in developing website then you should do on page optimization by yourself but you are newbie then try wordpress theme as it is very good and on page optimized.
Well, On Page SEO has equal importance as Off Page SEO if not more. It actually tells search engines how to treat your site.
On page SEO is more important than off page SEO. If we increase traffic on page SEO or off page SEO. Please tell me which one is very important for increase traffic.
keyword density, meta tag, site map, internal linking all is good matter for support to search engine.
Competitive keywords rely very little on "on page" factors - but non-competitive keywords rely a lot on the "on page" factors.
Hi, On-page SEO would usually require knowledge in understanding the codes as well as the flow of the website. Usually, SEO enthusiasts would only convey the necessary changes for the website for SEO optimization, however, the release of web content management systems or web CMS have made this process easier and convenient for both parties.
