What do you think for ranking?

Is it best to have a url with main keywords in it?

Is there any difference between url with related keywords or no keywords at all?

    Thanks

Well if you can use the keywords on your URL then why not.. But make sure it makes sense.. besides that you can change the file name of your page and put your keyword on it... for example youdomain.com/keyword.html.. This is a pretty good practice too...

Obviously it is a great bonus if you can have your main keyword in your URL because this will help Google find the page relevant to its content. However it is not essential yet I wouldn't understand why someone would opt for not having the main keyword in the URL.

    Overall yes its important.

    thanks for replies

its obvious though that for keywords with a lot of competition it can be difficult to find a url with keyword that doesnt get very long or reads weird.

but I thought about it and found a good url niche!

I think our having a keyword in your URl can be dangerous because your site will perform well in search engines but it will seriously damage the brand ability of your website. You should try and get a brand able URL with keywords in it. If you do not have a brand able URL your site will never reach its top level although it will take lots of work to get your website ranking without keywords.

You can also add keywords into file name and folder structure of your site.

It's good to add at least one keyword in your domain name. Though your serp may not directly depend on your domain name. It can also be based on how well-versed you are in your link building and on your on-page optimization.

I think it would be better to create a domain name that is easy to remember by your visitors and has eye-catchy name. This will help your online business to establish a brand name or trademark that is remarkable to your clients or visitors.

Having keywords in the URL of your pages is a great advantage for SEO. Each page of your site should have a URL with keywords relating to the products or services offered on that page. Having keywords repeated like this throughout your site will mean that the search engine spiders will think your site is highly relevant to the search term and put it higher in the search listings.
