I am lucky that Bing list my site. in a keyword in google , my site always list in the first page of Google and bing
Don't know where you get your data from. Google isn't 'shrinking' You do realize that yahoo search results are powered by bing? Yea sometimes bing will naturally pick up things that are indexed by google. Makes me wonder if they are scraping google results.
In regards to your question, Bing's search market share per: searchengineland.com/comscore-january-2013-search-rankings-148478 has a market of around 16%. Obviously not as robust as Google's but it still has some market share. Whether that stat has any value varies from person to person or business to business. For me it is important to at least monitor the traffic and have a Bing Webmaster's account. I will log in every so often and check how the sites I manage are doing ranking and traffic wise. It is to an extent free advertising, despite effort and time put forth to reach those rankings is not free. In conclusion, it basically comes down to how important is that 16% market share to you. For me it is important but my effort and time is never superseded by my listings status on Google.
I have always worked under the philosophy that it's best not to keep all your eggs in one basket. Get your site listed and all the major search engines.
Well not only that, you get more exposure for pretty much 0 work. If you are doing well in google and you submit your site to these other engines... you will probably do well in the other engines as well.
For good ranking you need to learn Bing algorithm then definitely you will get good ranking for your site.
For an SEO every search engine ranking is good and have value. So if there is ranking in Google and Bing then it means you have maximum chances to get high rank in other search engines.
I don't think you'd want to AVOID Bing. Why? Because it's ALWAYS important to 'increase your footprint' Let me illustrate it this way - say I was selling a product on eBay - would I want to JUST sell it there? Or also sell it on Amazon, Bonanza, start my own website, or maybe create a brick-and-mortar store? Probably all of them! Because even though some might be lesser-known, I'm STILL increasing my footprint and making more sales - thereby being more profitable. Hope this helps. -Auction Debt Eliminator-
The same way that Google crawls the web with bots and algorithms so does Bing. If your site has been on the web for a long time and is still not appearing on Bing, you can open a Bing webmasters account and just submit your URL. If your site is appearing on the first page of Google for any keywords, I would find it difficult to image why it would not be appearing at all on Bing. Bing will be looking for similar things to Google and unless your spamming Bing should pick up your site. There is no harm in being on Bing but don't expect too much traffic from them.
it is very important, it is good to have a high search rating on all the search engines, a high result in one engine will have a knock on effect on another engine with microsofts partnership with facebook, facebook is using bing results in searches made on its website
I think that it is good to have your site listed on Bing but you should worry about Google and Yahoo first. Globally, Google and Yahoo are currently more important than Bing. Bing is growing in popularity though and they are backed by microsoft so expect to see Bing become more important in the future. Still, I don't see it surpassing Google any time soon.
Somewhere I read, listed your site in all search engines because it is an important task to get more traffic so I think listing in all search engines is good for our site.
Bing normally drives less than 10% - 15% of your entire search engine traffic. Basically, when you promote your site for other search engines, it automatically gets promoted in bing too.
None of my visits drive from bing, so It is not so important for me.. But my site is listed on bing..
