Lets say I want to target keyword phrase - "keyword1 keyword2" Which way is better option for this? www.keyword1keyword2.com or www.keyword1-keyword2.com (my thought is that keyword1keyword2 doesn't have space in it so probably would rank lower then a domain with hyphen, but I might be wrong about it) would these results show up much higher then this subdomain: www.keyword1-keyword2.domain.com? Does this subdomain get more seo value then www.domain.com/keyword1-keyword2.php? Thank you
No hyphens looks better! But it does not matter for SEO! and a subdomain comes before (sub=pre).......so keyword1.domain.com and SEO value extends far beyond domain structure. but this is a good start. And here is ONE VALUABLE PIECE OF ADVICE CONCERNING SUBDOMAINS they are treated as a new domain.
Ok so do you think there would be a difference for seo if i would register. www.keyword1.com or www.keyword1.domain.com? because I see that when there is a targeted keyword in domain it goes much higher in the search rankings. Not sure same goes for subdomains. Because I rarely see www.keyword1.domain.com in top spots
If you a good Seo friendly domain name, it is always better for the SEO campaign , when you have multiple keywords to optimize, it is better to have a sub domain related with the keyword which will add the weight to the home page as well. A good sub domain name with good optimization will help your home page as well
Hi there, I suggest you that instead of sub domain, domain name is much better to use. Priority wise your 1st URL is best because people generally go for the particular keyword they want to search instead of using any decorative phrase or symbol. So, go for the first one man!
I suggest you to consider domainname/keyword1 and domainname/keyword2... To me, its always better to target to single keyword for a page rather than targeting two KW for a single page..
Jeff is right, if you are targeting two different keywords, then it is better to use these options which jeff specified..
Well there is no problem with both of the domain as Google have started indexing hyphen. SO its upto you what best domain you get.
As long as it is your primary keyword that you are targeting, that is what is vital. If you ca further back that up in your title, tags and meta description, plus on page content, that would also help. As long as those keywords are on page, and as long as you have good keyword density, youre all good. Hyphens dont matter, as has been said already, google now have no problems distinguishing these, they just look more ugly.
Domains are cheap so would it be a bid difference for seo as: www.keyword1.com www.keyword2.com instead of making a page www.domain.com/keyword1 and www.domain.com/keyword2 DOmain basically costs 10$ per year so my question is do we get SEO advantage in general making www.keyword1.com vs www.domain.com/keyword1 or www.keyword1.domain.com? Who can answer this question? Because if there is no advantage then I can simply create a page devoted to that keyword or subdomain and save 10$.
Oh of course, having other content on site that targets your secondary and tail keywords will always help the SEO process, as long as you link these from the main page using the right anchor text (keywords), then the spiders wil follow those and they will be indexed under their correct keywords accordingly.
