How important is DMOZ these days?

I have heard stories of sites that have been in the dmoz queue for years yet they are achieving excellent results in the SEs such as Google and Yahoo!

How important is Dmoz these days if Google, Yahoo and MSN are dominating the market share in searches?

Except from an indexing perspective, how much value does Dmoz actually add to SEO?

    Thanks!

It is massively outdated, but until someone come's up with a better directory with almost as much content the big guns like Google are still going to use them, that means they are important, multi-billion dollar companies don't use just anything.
