Hi, Just a quick question for you SEO experts. I understand that relevant anchor tax for a link is important, but would a link still have an effect on the SEO of my website if for example I just used my name or one letter as the anchor text??? If this makes sense. Thanks, Alex.
No they doesn't make any sense... Anchor text helps you in ranking well in SERP. So use your keywords in the anchor text where ever you use ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Don't think i'm peon by seeing my post count. Me too an SEO expert and this DP banned me for NO reason.
No way it doesn't make any sense here, anchor text target to the link to that keyword for which you are optimizing a web site anchor text doesn't mean that making in links or out links any how for any keyword or single word as you say.
Sorry, it is a bit of random question i know. Was trying to ask that if I made a link without my keywords in the anchor text would it still have an effect on my search engine position and count as a backlink etc?
Thanks. This is what i was wondering really. Reason is because I’m using my name as the anchor text to my website, because the website I’m submitting to won’t allow any commercial links. So I was just trying to be sneaky and get away with a cheeky link.
Without your targeted keyword it will increases your back links only but never increases your SERP rank for that keyword.
Anchor text are very much important, that can boost your keyword. Always give proper anchor text that points to the page. Instead of using "click here" you can use the main keyword of that particular page it's pointing to.
anchor text is really important but also if you have not matched anchor with keywords will have influence and will improve your rankings... so, if you find a place for your link you go for a link even if the anchor texts sounds like "click here"
Use keywords in anchor tags that would help you to have a good Google organic ranking... It helps in SERP.
Yes, you still get link juice but you need to use anchor text and it should be the keywords you are attempting to rank for. Best Wishes
You need your anchor text, but I think everyone left out a major factor that goes with the anchor text. THE CONTENT, if you dont have a ton of content and the use of your anchor text phrase, much of your credit for that link will go to waste.
It will not help you in gaining SERP but may help you in gaining PR, Count as a good back link. Normally this is problem for blog commenting , Using keyword instead of original name.
Any anchor text will help you to gain authority, and when you have authority, you gain positions for lots of diffrent keywords. if you use a specific anchor text then that's a big plus, but any ancrhor text is a good one because it gives you authority.
Having your keywords in anchor text backlinks is much better than any other text in anchor text in SERP. You can also use long tail keywords in anchor text backlinks, which will be helpful to your main keywords ranking.
Anchor text is the hyperlinked words on a web page - the words you click on when you click a link. However, if your site is all about purple widgets, you don't want only "purple widgets" to be used as the phrase in every link to your site. Over-optimizing like that would create an unnatural pattern. You can use anchor text in: * External links - links from other sites * Internal links - links on your pages * Navigation maps * Links on your main page. A very important spot. Remember that real live humans will read your links as well as search engines, so the words in your anchor text need to make sense!
