Seems like Webinars are all the rage these days. Either that, or I have just become very interested in them. Regardless, there is a few lessons that I learned in the lastweek that I really want to share with you. The money is in the List If you have been around IM for longer than 5 minutes, you have obviously heard the expression, "the money is in the list". Well guess what? Its true! Think about it. With a list, you can get in contact with your subscribers whenever you want. Without a list, you have to wait for them to come back to your site. Lame. So, being relatively new to IM, I have been on the hunt for a way to build my list as fast as possible. How I'm using webinars to grow my list As you can see from the chart below, the growth of my subscribers really took off about a week ago. Guess what I started to do a week ago? I started to promote my Tuesday Night Training series of free webinars. Last night I held my first webinar and, despite some stupid mistakes I made that cut my signups in half, I still managed a turnout of 15 people. Oddly, 15 was right about where I expected. To be honest, I don't think a turnout of 15 is a big deal, however, if I was going to screw up my first attempt, I'd rather pooch it for just 15 people instead of 150! Now lets look at my web traffic... As you can see, as soon as I started to promote my webinar, my traffic and new subscribers really took off. How to promote your webinar Here's how I did it: I wrote a new post almost every day (I should have done one every day) I started threads on the Warrior Forum (just one example) and the Digital Point Forum (just one example) to attract visitors to the posts I'd just written I posted to my Facebook page I tweeted I created a Facebook event My bonus idea for you Now, in the interest of being fully transparent, the huge spike in traffic yesterday didn’t come from just my webinar.
