Hello there ... Currently The Proxy is being monetized using Adsense , but I am thinking of other ways of monetizing it .... May be affiliate links... Now , for Affiliate links to work , the visitors to the proxy should have buying power , and the visitors (mostly) being kids , I'm not too sure about their buying power ..... What do you think is the Max buying power of proxy visitors .... Say ,I decide to start putting an affiliate banner for buying a "mysapce tricks" Ebook or something like that , What do you think my CTR would be , and also the conversion rate ? The Ebook will be priced aroun 10-15$ ?? Anyody famillar with that demographics ?
I think the conversion rate would be 0.000001%. How many random kids would want to buy a 'make money online' style ebook?!
^^ Hey Live ,contrary to your thinking , many will buy such a book . Kids are always after money , and who dosent want to earn money OL , may it be just part time , for the summer , so that they can get that Nintendo WII , or maybe get that Guitar they always wanted ..... ? Your thoughts are welcome .... you can be right ....
And Live , anyways , I wasnt talking about a "make money" type book ... it was more on the lines of "Do more with Myspace" or " Guitars" Ebook ..... Something that would intrest them ... but do they have the (monetary) power to buy this stuff?
um i would recommend you using adsense. it will give you more money later on , when you will get high traffic and loads of backlinks. just stick on to promoting your proxy , submit it to proxy directories, and you will earn too much money from it.
Thanks for the suggestion nappy ... am earning good money from the proxy ..... But well , Expanding to affiliates will not hurt the adsense income( I suppose) . Any other specific answers ?
If you are a cj/ebay affiliate user, give www.buildanichelink.com a try. Put in a search term (stuff you think your visitors are interested in), replace the xxxxxxx part with your pid and use the link provided on your site. PM me if you have any questions.
I have used AdBrite on Proxy sites with GREAT Success. Give them a shot. They have a lot of Proxy Sites using their service!

By the Way , should I put adbrite on the top header (of proxified pages) or strip the sites of their advertising code and put in adbrite code(automatically ... will have to modify the proxy script for doing this)
