How [if possible] are you able to gauge your future PR?

I've been around the 'Link Sales' section of the forum alot and I've seen a bunch of people saying...buy a link for this much...pr expected to be at a 4 or 5. Are these peeps just taking a guess due to the link campaign they've been runninng for the site, or is there an actual way of predicting future pr.

I remember about 5 or 6 months ago when this site: http://livepr.raketforskning.com/ was a big deal since it was producing pr numbers of what your pr would be BEFORE the update...when mine was a pr3 it said (on several datacenters) that it was going to be a pr4...after the next update, it did. It worked for several other sites and subpages.

Anyways...I was just wondering if anyone had any insite on this...to my knowledge, I don't know of any way, but it would be rad if there were.

Please note that the best way to estimate about your future pagerank is through regular checking of Google data centers, also continue adding links to your website and follow the recommended approaches and hopefully you will experience a boost in your coming PR update.

PR can not be predicted at all. There is no algorithm or script that can do it because Google do not release anything in that fashion to make it work. The best you can do is an educated guess if you look at all the usual factors.

    Hope this helps.

In the Google sitemap there is a meter to see how much pr your pages have.

Some of those PR prediction tools like Iwebtool are highly unpredictable.
