How I Will Make $100/day with my Web 2.0 Blog: My Case Study

I have an idea!

Let's make a B2B blog and post a "case study" thread on a webmaster forum about it. Then every so often post an update and bump the thread to the top for more traffic.

Oh wait, that idea is already taken. =(

 

Bounce rates always make me nauseous when I look at them in Google Analytics on new sites.

Anyway, I look forward to following this thread! I've seen you, OP, around quite a bit in my months of browsing DP, so I have high hopes for you.

I think part of the increase in traffic may be from readers of this post visiting your blog. But anyway, I, too, hope you succeed in achieving your goals

 

Wow thanks for all the support guys, didn't think so many people would be following. I'm actually getting ready to get a new post situated on the blog, so I'll have some more stats to share with you guys soon, along with a few tips I've learned and where my next plan of attack is on the blog's $100/day goal!

You don't talk about any traffic generating tips other than social web 2.0 sites. These can be hit and miss with conversions and won't guerantee you a $100 a day.

Gives us some more info on how you are going about this

My First Post to Inside the Webb
So it's been a while since I've updated my thread here, figured I would share a little bit more information with you guys. Since launching my new design on Inside the Webb, I've finally posted up a new article to the blog! It's an interview with a new Twitter application, seems really cool and I've gotten decent feedback so far.

So what are my steps in gaining traffic to my blog now that I've got some post content? Well it's not too hard, and I've already got some great ideas brewing! However for now I'm sticking to the basics - submitted my site to social networking outlets, and also spread it around Twitter and Facebook and such. Here are my main article submissions, just so you guys can get an idea of my "checklist" so to speak as to where to submit my article.

Now keep in mind this is only a list. This isn't every site I can be submitting to as there are generally tons and tons of websites I submit to, but here are some of the main ones:

- Propeller
- DZone
- The Web Blend
- Design Moo
- DesignFloat
- Blogger Den
- IndianPad

Now this is only the tip of the iceberg! I still have tons of social bookmarking sites I can share to like Mister-Wong, Diigo, Delicious, Simpy... and I may also submit to a few other social news and bookmarking sites like Mixx and such.

Traffic Resources
Aside from social media sites I haven't done too much promotion, although what other promotion can you really do. I've submitted my blog to a few CSS galleries, I want to see if my new design can withstand the crucial judgment of some of these galleries and if I can get accepted it'd be a huge undertaking for me.

I don't have many exciting traffic stats to share through Google Analytics or anything and I'm sure I'll have some good stats tomorrow (the day after my post went live). However I will say that I've been getting some steady visits, interested people in advertising on Inside the Webb and have plenty of posts lined up to carry me well into my $100/day goal.

What's your traffic been bro? I'm waiting for you to post numbers, adsense earnings per day, uniques ect.

 

I've posted my traffic a few times in my earlier posts, I don't have anything to share right now as I'm going to wait until tomorrow to share my newest traffic updates. This is because I just updated my blog with it's first post since the re-design, and I want to make sure I can share with you guys how powerful just posting one thing to this blog will be in drawing traffic.

As for earnings, right now I'm at $0 from this blog. The whole point is to build up Inside the Webb's reputation, PR, Alexa, etc... Once I have a really popular blog going, I can charge a decent amount for ad space and start working towards my goal of $100/day blogging

 

Put adsense up there. I'm making 22 dollars a day already (My website is two weeks old only), and that's a fifth of your goal right there.

it may help you to ramp up the traffic

Can you elaborate why you are using a 2.0 blog instead of your own domain? Are you thinking the 2.0 site will have more respect from Google to boost your SERP ranking?

So as I promised, here are my latest Analytics stats from my first post. Note that I hadn't hit all of the social media sites I planned to just yet, so I do plan for an even higher curve tomorrow. But I think the starting degree of traffic is pretty nice for just one post.
