Create really outstanding, useful, unique content, then contact other website owners that might have interest in that content and show it to them. If they like it alot, ask them if they would link to it.
Agree with selectsplat. That is a tough task, creating useful content is not only the best form it is also the most time efficient. The trick comes to getting people to find your content - make sure to use article submissions & reach out to your industry's blogosphere...offer to be a guest writer in exchange for a link back to your site as reference. It's a win-win.
The best way is to comment on high ranking blogs, forums and write good articles with backlinks to your sight.
When doing this, is there a max number of backlinks you should put into an article... coz isn't there somethign about keyword density too ??
It depends on the length of the article...but I typically try to use fewer than 5. Here is an article worth checking out about building backlinks - http://www.webconfs.com/how-to-build-backlinks-article-16.php And yes keyword density is important...to optimize on-page keyword density shoot for anywhere between 5-8% per keyword you are attempting to optimize. I.E. - target keyword is "Diet Snapple"...then "Diet Snapple" should comprise 5-8% of the words used in the copy of a given article.
So that would mean in a 400 word article you would have the keyword "Diet Snapple" appearing between 20-30 times !! That seams a lot...even thos 5-8% sounds low.. i was thinking an article like that would come across as spammy ?

is there a good cost/benefit of using a service like yours ?? I'm coming from a positon of being unable to work for the last 4 years, and have just welfare benefits to live on, so think it will be slower, but better for me to start this way. Be interested to hear the costings tho. thanks
type on google "Comments links could be nofollow free." and don't forget quotes "". basicaly you'll find blogs that are using nofollow free plugin (other way to say DOFOLLOW) keep good comments, be patient, and enjoy Anouar
I don't think links have PR, only the pages that u get that links have pr! BUt, I doubt, even if u have a backlink form a PR4 or 5 page, i don't think the link has the same value!
Back links may give pr to your website. you know you can't get pr without back links. so stand up and start to make back links now.
