How I went from 272 to 651 backlinks in under 24 hours

Okay so yesterday I was looking at Backlink Finders info on my site to check well backlinks!

I saw it said 272 backlinks and this was at 7AM July 15th.

I figured I could build links easy by posting at blogs so what I did is I Google searched "blog". Then I clicked on every site 1 by 1 for about 12 pages, only about 60 were blogs you could post url's at so I did.

I had all my info ready to copy + paste in a notepad name/email/url. As for comments I simply just said stuff like "I agree with [name]" or "I don't understand".

Then about 5 hours ago I checked again and in under 24 hours in exactly 18 hours I had gained 379 backlinks. I had 651 backlinks and it's still not finding all the links!

These weren't weak links either, they were top searched sites in google under a really popular search term. The first 100 pages where probably good sites!

So the tip here is you can gain easy links by posting on blogs! Always make a comment! This is also easy to do for most of you people who just read blogs for fun because you can read your 1000's of blogs and get backlinks at the same time!

Be aware this site was dead for a while and I just started it about a month ago and I really started getting into link building only lately.

No offense but I'm failing to see how these links are benefitting you much?

They're not driving you traffic directly - unless people have become more interested in finding out what site the person runs who made a generic, mostly unproductive response to a post (again, no offence intended).

Aside from that they're also spread accross a huge field of topically unrelated sites and I think you'll find that Google will probably end up doing one of two things A. devalue whatever little keyword ranking boosting you get from those links because of the above reason or B. even mark some or most of them as duplicate content and again devalue them.

Don't get me wrong, the idea of blog commenting is good but I think your going about it the wrong way. Your just going for link numbers without considering what you actually want to achieve with those links.

Having XXX amounts of links pointing to your site doesn't really get you anywhere unless these links are worth something. The fact that they got picked up fast is mostly due to them being on blogs which the robots crawl often - unfortunately that still doesn't mean that they doing you any good.

Most blogs use the nofollow attribute and most people on this forum know about that.

Nope, that's unfortunately or should I say fortunately not true at all - if that we're the case all you'd have to do is spam website directories, article directories and create a gazillion wordpress blogs with a bunch of rubbish on them and you'd get a good page rank. That aside from the point that the value of pagerank has decreased greatly over the last year and that, if you look at Razaqpur's site you'll see that no page rank boost has occurred and I'll argue won't occur from the links in question ever.

Even if you got that many links, they are not going to help you much. Forget about Nofollow, it's the relevancy that matters.

^^Correct^^ Relevancy is important. Also, Google doesn't like too many backlinks too quickly. It can get you sandboxed.

I have experience that no follow links also help to improve their rank [certain degree positive effect].
    It is true definitely.

Some say building too many links at once can even hurt your PR? I believe Google got a way to penalize such spamming method!

Sounds like "comment spamming" to me. Leaving hundreds of comments like "great post" and "I agree" is the kind of thing that has makes blog owners hate marketers. It contributes to hundreds of legitimate comments getting blocked too. I'm not saying blog commenting doesn't have a place in seo but it's hard to defend these as legit comments. But if it works for you.... go for it.

I am in a little bit of a hurry, and did not have time to read this whole thread, but from my limited experience jumping up hundreds of backlinks is not uncommon. That is because backlinks do not seemed to updated regularly. In google and yahoo I have jumped 500 links in a day... not because I made 500 links in a day, but because I had made 500 links in the last few weeks, and they were just getting around to updating their list...

    Hope this helps.
