How i transformed $20 in $20,000 in just one year

The internet it's having no limits, and i know that.

9 months ago. I was searching to make some content websites on niche thinking that this will bring me a lot of money. I thinked better and i said. Wait a minute, there is no way to make serious money from this, i need a business approach, where products are sold or developed, or people are making money from my services.

I am very good at seo, and have some friends good at design and web development. I said, this is the way to make some serious money. For promotion i used usual free directories, some paid quality directories and sites like digg, prweb, etc..

Next day i made the website, got a domain and put this online. Made my usual seo promotion, spent about $20 and made some moves i know were good to drive traffic to my website ( i will not tell you this :) ).

In the first month i have'd my first order of $480. Nice i covered my work and the $20, with a profit of 50% after i paid the design and development. I spent all that money on some promotion, and invested another $300 after i saw that there are some fish in the sea to catch.

I refused a lot of projects and got only the high paying ones to save the work and to make some quality. I made about $4000 in the next 4 months.

At this moment i am making about $10-15,000/month only from this with a profit from 40 to 50%.

So what i want to tell here is that advertising will not pay as much as a service or a product. Be smart, work smart and you will make that cash. :)

Nice work..but can I ask why you will not share your methods for increasing traffic? This information is probably no trade secret, and it can't possibly affect your site. Everyone is looking for good ways to increase traffic, so if you have a tip, why not share?

Adding hundreds of competitors will affect his site.

I didn't want him to reveal, what his site is, what he's selling, to whom he's selling, or his niche...I was just curious of his marketing techniques that is helping him increase his traffic. We could all use that kind of information, and I doubt many or any of us are direct competitors of this guy.

Simple, if he worked for it why should he have to tell anyone? Maybe it is a trade secret. The internet is agressive and if you don't keep at your guard you never know when you may be taken down.
Good job mate at the success.

He doesn't HAVE to do anything...but I asked (nicely) if he would share...if he doesn't, that's fine too. I'm happy for his success.

If people are going to start such a thread, they should be nice enough to give some pointers. Otherwise shut the hell up. It's just bragging, that is if they really did do any of that, or they are selling something.

This is a how-to marketing forum, to help others, right?

OK I GET IT! If he has some Super Duper Secret method that is his personal creation that he doesn't want to share...I understand. If he pays $20 to some site which helps him get traffic, I don't see how divulging that information is going to compromise his business model. I use a lot of sources to generate traffic...I'll gladly list everyone of them here for you, because it's not going to take any business away from me. See what I mean!

Its true that services or products probably pay more than advertising, but you have to realize that for us to sell services or products we have to keep working everyday. Advertising is a set up, make site popular, and earn while you sleep kind of thing.

No it is. Look at the facts. If you could drive xxx,xxx users to your site constantly for FREE - $20. Would you share? HELL NO. Why? Everyone would do it and kill the market :p

My intent wasn't to start a debate over this, but you're assuming that by divulging this "magic traffic generator" that everyone is instantly going to use it and it will somehow affect his "Green Widgets for Sale" business. If we all had "Green Widget for Sale" websites, then your point might be valid. I'm in the car business..so how would it "kill the market" for this guy if I knew his secret? I don't know what his biz is, but I'm going to bet that it's not auto related. I want to generate traffic to my site...not steal business from what ever niche this guy is in. See what I'm getting at.

K guys, peace not war. It's not bragging, it's saying to everyone that something can be done. If everyone here was asking how to make 100K/Year and no one was saying they were doing so, then how could we ever hope to be the one to do it?
It's motivation to get off your butts and go do something like this fellow did.

it's a web design business...on the international market...i started with a niche and now extended to international on highly competitive keywords

all the business in the world are made on targets. put every time a target, a big target and seeing you aiming it, with this is starting all.

i spent $20 only at the beginning because i was experienced, a new guy can't do this by himself
