How I ranked well in google for my niche site [A case study]

Well you people might wonder why I am sharing this in google subforum because i have used this following technique to rank well for my niche site....I have documented whatever I have done to rank well the site...so I would like to share it with you guys now!!

What niche have I taken for my niche site and why?

I went for health niche because I made the niche site by keeping adsense in mind and I thought that health will be a good niche for it!!

How do I choose your sub niche and what method I used to know about the adsense revenue for that niche?

I used adwords and keyword expert to know what subniche should I concentrate for my site...Infact I believe selecting a sub niche depends on individual's point of view...

I used Spyfu to find how much my sub niche can earn in adsense and I believe that it has worked out fairly well...

What domain you went for and does domain extension has any influence over serp?


I went for info domain and I believe that .info extension will be apt for my site as my site gives informations about the sub niche I am targeting.No its ok to have domain with any extension....google and other search engines only care about content and links....they dont care what domain you use.Also its better to have your keyword in the domain.....it has a great effect and helps a lot in ranking well.

What script you used for making your site and why?


I use wordpress for building my site.I use it because it has a great seo effect and its main advantage is rss feed and google love rss feeds.....this helps to get the site indexed very quickly...I will also explain about other advantages of wordpress later

How old it is? Nearly 50 days old..

You will see a yellow block in the screen shot and this is the keyword I am presently targetting.

How many links do I have? 189 according to yahoo siteexplorer.These links comes from quality health sites,social bookmarking sites,blog commenting and directories..

Only 189 links why not more? I dont want the site to be sandboxed and hence building links slowly and naturally... If you guys want to know what sandbox is all about check this out

How many articles do my site have? I have 15 unique articles now and I will be adding more,I am working on it at present.

Internal Linkbuiling:- I want to talk about this....because I used this method to rank well in google.....Internal linkbuilding refers to linking articles from your site itself and this does adds value to our site.Infact wordpress helps a lot in internal linkbuilding and I will tell how to implement it later....If you guys want to know more on internal linkbuilding please refer Linkbuilding Bible (this is not my site....but i love it as it has great tips on link building)

So how my site is ranking now for that keyword "chemotherapy guidelines"?

It is ranking 3rd in google for that keyword and here is a screenshot of it....



What is the avg traffic at present?

The avg traffic is anywhere between 50 to 60 and I am working on other keywords as well,I will be adding more contents and I am very sure the traffic will be hitting 100 UV a day soon.One more thing 80% of the traffic is from search engines and majority from google.

How much the adsense makes?

It makes between 1$ to 2$ daily and I am sure it will improve as I have added adsense only for the past 3 weeks.

I will talk about long tail keywords and how to write articles for niche site and how to analyse the traffic effectively in my next post...I will make sure to keep this thread updated...

I've heard various people say that Wordpress is good for SEO - why? what makes it any different to a standard html or php site?

 

rss feeds has a very good advantage in wordpress, also there are lot of plugins available that helps wordpress for better optimization...I will talk about the plugins and seo effects in my next post
