I don't know about you, but do you find the promotion tools available on the ClickBank affiliates websites, well... ...limiting, to say the least? Why do they assume every affiliate marketer has a huge list or a very popular blog to add the hoplink to? Sure if you're a Guru with hundreds of thousands of subscribers then sending a broadcast with your ClickBank offer is bound to produce a few sales, but most beginners to affiliate marketing haven't got this huge list and therefore need help to get started. All you seem to be able to find in the promotion tools are web banners, email swipes and the odd article or two. So how can a beginner get a huge list or have a great blog with thousands of visitors passing through everyday? The Plan The first thing you are going to need to build your list is a free gift or a One-Time-Offer on the next page to give in exchange for their email address. I personally find a digital free report to download or a video to watch is the most effective. You now have to have somewhere to display your free gift and a place for your visitor to leave their name & email. There are 2 great places for this: A Squeeze Page A Blog If you have never used either method then you may be missing a great opportunity. A Squeeze Page is a simple 1 Page website that's sole intention is to get your visitor to leave their details (it is "squeezed" out of them, nice!) A blog, as you are no doubt aware, is a collection of posts that you have posted on your niche subject, i.e how to make money wth Clickbank, for example. Both websites are perfect for displaying your free gift and a sign-up box. A squeeze page, however, may be more effective at doing this as this is its sole purpose, whereas a Blog consists of many posts and links. I find the best place to display your free gift on a blog is in the widgets on the right-hand side. This is then visible to your visitor, whatever page they are on. The Free Gift This is nothing more than a "dangling carrot" or "teaser" as to what's to come. You don't want to give away everything in your free gift and leave no reason for your visitor to want to know more. So you just need to gather the articles and emails from the vendors affiliate tools and produce a simple 4/5 page pdf report. When creating your free report make sure you include your ClickBank Hoplink throughout, on the footer of every page. This will ensure that your link is visible to your reader at all times, should their curiousity get the better of them. The Sign-up Box The free report is no use on its own. You now need a place for your visitor to enter their details in exchange for your free report. You need an Autoresponder, i.e Aweber or GetResponse. You will be able to create a Web Form and include an image of your free report and an eye-catching title, i.e FREE REPORT - How To Earn $30K Sending Texts. This will make your visitor want to know "HOW?" and afterall... it's FREE, so why not. And if it's not for them they can simply unsubscribe. The Follow-up Emails Now that you have your visitors email address you can now send them emails...completely on autopilot! Once your autoresonders are set-up you don't need to do anything. They will be sent automatically. You have to be VERY careful not to SPAM your subscribers as you may get reported and your url suspended in serious cases. So what emails are safe to send to my list and how often. After sign-up the first email will be sent automatically but then it's up to you what interval the next emails have. I tend to send mine every other day and then 4/5 days after that. As you are promoting a ClickBank product your emails will need to talk about how the product will benefit them. Most ClickBank products Sales Pages are very "salesy" and quite pushy, BUY NOW, HURRY, LIMITED TIME ONLY! I personally find this apporach very off putting and an insult to my intelligence. I like to view the follow-up emails as a mini ecourse where your subscriber can learn in bite-size pieces how the product will benefit them. This is certainly not a place to push BUY NOW messages on your subscribers, unless you want a rapid unsubscribe rate. So now you know how to begin as a ClickBank affiliate marketer. The next step is then to drive thousands of visitors to your blog and squeeze page. I will be talking about how to do this in my next post Bye for now, Mike German
