How I judge if a link will pass SERPS

    Hi Guys,

I thought I would post what I believe is important in judging how valuable a link is in terms of giving you serps.

In a nutshell, the link must be from a page/site that has serps itself. In my opinion this is the most important factor, and yes, I value it more than PR.

So typically, I will look at the PR (as everone does), then I will look at the sites alexa. This is not sufficient as a site with reasonable serps will have alexa, however sites without serps may have alexa too (by buying traffic for example). This then narrows it down, so I'll then try to tell the keywords the page is targeting, then see if I can find it in the serps related to its probable keywords.

I think if a page ranks well for even a moderatly compeditivie keyword, it should pass some good juice. If its related to your niche, then it will be a gold mine.

I think this is much more important in valuing a link than looking at its PR.

So, what do you think. Just my humble opinion.
