How I increased CPM

In last 2 weeks I experimented with different ad formats and came up with most profitable ad format and positions for my website.

First I tried 728 by 90 horizontal right below menu. It resulted in some clicks about 2 % CTR with average for click around .03 cents. Was not satisfied, those 1 cent clicks make me mad.

Next I thought if there was less adds and add links, it would be higher per click value. It was opposite. 468 by 60 was worst performer of them all. With drastic decrease in CTR and still 1 cent clicks.

So I thought it must be those spam sites that are advertising, MFA sites, I used Adsense preview plugin, and blacklisted some sites there were showing up nonstop. eCPM

Waited 4 days still same results.

Than I put up 250x250 in sidebar, 326x280 below posts, and 300x250 on main page. And viola I get about 2-3%CTR and I finally get 5 cent to 10 cents click with occasional .1 cent click.
I was happy, now just building up more content, and more links.

Also I populated my blacklisted sites with the list of MFA sites, that seems to help some what.

There are alot of factors that play into this. alot of times i thought i was on to something, then bam! its total opposite. hope you found your formula tho

Haha... I am using only 468 by 60 banners, although I only get about 2-3 clicks a day, they are generally of about 60 cent value which I thought was decent.

I guess it will vary among keyword targeting and whatnot... I'm still experimenting! Thanks for the information.

but can you tell me how do u get the list of MFA sites to blacklist in adsense?
