Man! 10 years is quite a lot of time to go up in Google It actually depends what kind of keyword you are targeting.. If its just your name, then I made on top of Google in just 11 minutes..

It wasn't just the name - he put the keywords there. And the fastest I've ever seen someone rank #1 is in under a minute from building the page. Google can be very quick to find, but it's a different decision as to when they rank you.

yes keywords is in domain. i invested around 2 days to search for keyword rich domain. and it is very good or bad (i dont know) that there is lot of keyword rich domain are still available and people are registering useless domains
I admire neteater's persistence in aiming for and getting that top spot in Google. As for me, I started out with article marketing and Twitter early last year and then proceeded to other marketing tactics such as blog and forum commenting at the last quarter. The thing with me was I took it slow. I worked on a single keyword first and is now ranking one or two with it on the first page of Google. The increase in my rankings started showing though when I worked hard on my link building through blog and forum commenting.

@Swayamdas2010 i already stated 6 years were used in enjoying net like chatting with grls on yahoo chat watchng p###n doing useless task and in later 4 years i started to learn from skretch and to all it is on page seo but i also value link building as it is viral

Alright, according to your url format, you first of all do not have any rich keyword in your url(here's a disadvantage), and I presume the main reason why you lost your position.. Secondly, even you need to enrich your website's content with high paying keyword.. I mean the ones which Advertisers pay more... cause those are the ones which fetch more traffic... What's your backlink stats?
