Well, I was really shocked yesterday when I checked my blog about Google (gSpy) to find our that it is having PageRank 3 when two months ago I got nothing when I started. I, therefore, would like to share the experience within all Bloggers or webmasters so get an idea or how I did it. Just a kind of credit, I would like to link to my post rather than quoting it here. Is it alright? PageRank Advancement I am open to any comments about this post. Thanks. Keith
I see a PR3 in most DC's" http://livepr.raketforskning.com/?u=http://gspy.blogspot.com/ Congrats mate!
I really would love some feedback on the suggestions given in my post. P.S. I really hope this encourages new bloggers or webmasters to continue their hard work and don't give up even they don't get good PR. Thanks!
If you have read the blog post, I didn't even expect to get PR in such a short time. I just used the given Blogger templates and add in basic META tags, and followed the principles listed in the post.
I'm started to believe PR means nothing, I had a website that went from PR0 to PR4 with no links anywhere in 3months., it was just a demo website to show to people. How is that, the website only gets 1-2 visits per-day, and no one has a link of it on their website
PR is going to be meaningless... i got PR4 Jump from Zero in just 40 days and PR3 jump in just 25 days... even i don't have enough Backlinks ...
Lol I started a quick site just to host a program I made. Never maintained it, and it hardly has _any_ content on it. I checked the PR of it today, and it was PR5. I believe the site was started in September, and not touched since then. It has no traffic or anything, and only 40 hits from Google this month. Not really sure what happened there My guess is it earned a few quality back links on: Sourceforge Softpedia Wikipedia Download.com For the people saying you see PR0 on his blog, I see PR3 on almost all data centers. Not sure which tools you're using
@ shahab6 and mani's I agree that PageRank might not be the best indication of the importance or a better term quality of a site or page, yet, Google merely uses PageRank to determine the ranking of sites within a given keyword search. The more important part which makes Google successful is its AI (or its text analysis) which determines exactly what users are finding. And in most case, I agree that PageRank 1 to 5 means nothing, but once you get higher ones, you definitely have to be a strong site (if you don't agree, please give me an example of a spam PR 9 site ) @ seobeglobal's What I mean PageRank 3 is the homepage of my blog, even the Official Google Blog with PR 9 can't get all of its post for PR 9. It takes time for the PageRank to spread to inner pages. And I am looking forward to a further increase in PageRank upon the next update @ Rub3X I don't see a problem with 'having a site which you never maintain but got PR 5' as Google said, you don't have to focus on search engines, if your page is useful to users, obviously PageRank will come. PageRank is only the importance, it has no relation with the traffic you get. To all, I must admit that the increase in PageRank of my blog isn't that special (taking account of all the SEO experts in DP) But I really want to encourage new bloggers or webmasters who have just set up a site to focus on content and to make use of the existing webmaster tools provided by Google. And, above all, I really hope that DP member can give me feedback on the post (not the fact that PageRank might not be accurate) because I believe DP members know much more than me. Thanks. Keith
As mentioned in my post, I really think that webmaster should not focus too much on Search Engine Optimization (SEO). If they use the time for content building and improving the quality, you get high PageRank and traffic automatically.
Yea I just found it sad. My blog which I post 1-2 unique articles on per day only has a PR4, but gets 60 thousand hits from Google a month, and 8k unqiue a day. It's just really weird how it all ranks out >.>
It seems that more and more websites are getting higher PageRank. Where does all the voting come from? Or is there a major change in algorithms of PageRank adding other factors (besides domain age) to its formula? Any suspections?
Ill share my experience too. In 1 month, with barely no links my forum, www.getmyfreehosting.com went from 0 to 4!!!
