I don't think so i am still able to get my site now, infact i was able to get my site indexed just yesterday.. If you have read some where that's it's officially over please post the newslink here. cheers !
Oh no I am sorry I shouldn't have used the word official but I noticed on Blogspot that they are no longer allowing any links. If you check the page you will see the active links but If you check the atom.xml file the links are only text. Blogspot doesn't allow you to post links for your site to get crawled anymore. Or that may just be blogger.com I don't know which one it is. If you happen to use Blogspot do a post then check your atom.xml file for the link. It should come up as text instead. Unless that was a temporary change.
yes YoungSmeagol , you were right RSS+blog ping is dead technology, only way i can think of getting site indexed on SE's ( i mean yahoo and Google )is getting back links , Can anyone tell me how can i get backlinks for my site. Thanks a lot !! Andy
well of course the coop is a good idea.. been in for about a week and have about 150 backlinks from them Id say, plus some traffic. I also joined GotLinks for a few days to get some quick and dirty backlinks (get you about 500 in a few days, but dump the service quickly they are pretty crappy)
Also, I think yahoo is finally giving me a deep crawl as we speak. Atleast we got about 9 bots crawling.
Oh no I am sorry I misinformed you. It is not dead they just started limiting the amount of links you can put up on one page. Blog and Ping will still work you just have to keep posting and watching that atom.xml file to make sure they haven't turned your links into text.
Thanks Stin for your advice, i went to coop site .Looks to me it's reciprocal link site, i was trying to register there but have no luck its asking for google api login ....blah blah ,,, could you please PM/email me ...what i need to do on coop network. Thanks andy
It's kinda irregular pattern , some of links are still showing up in blogspot/blogger under atom.xml , however some links are trimmed off . Does any one else noted same pattern with blogger/blogspot ? i'm confused Andy
Well, I quit when the servers kept going down and making every page take the max time to load. Also, the software on their site was real buggy and wouldnt let me deny and accept all the sites I wanted.
It's back working for me. I probably was doing to many links on one post. Now blog and ping is working reliably and relatively quickly
I registered a new domain today, vBookShop.com, and submitted an RSS feed tonight to Yahoo at 7:00 pm. I just now "pinged" for good measure and will post when I first see the page show up in Yahoo's index.
Hey a newbie here.. i had a problem in yahoo.. Your writings sounds great, but can elaborate it more.. I cant uderstand some technical things that you guys are talking about Im a rookie SEO.. here's my email you can send it personally dcorrales@proadultoutsourcing.com Thanks it would be a great help
Ok results are in... Yahoo! has indexed the submitted page [less than 72 hours] however the RSS feed is not showing up just yet. This would lead me to believe that the RSS feed is not the reason the page was indexed.
I haven't read this entire thread, but can anyone tell me if RSS feed is suitable for a more or less static web site? And if not suitable will it work with Yahoo?
compar, a RSS feed is really not at all suitable for a static website... But it does indeed work with yahoo still
Am I going mad? I went here: http://perfect-party-ideas.blogspot.com/ ..and all I can find are advertisements. Where are the actual instructions?
It looks like the site has evolved since his original post. I can't seem to find it in the archives. It's been several months.
