I think you have to do 2 thing 1> sitemap 2> Rss feed and some on site optimization

 

@FTC: The reason why there is so much weight is because there are over 100 backlinks back to your site alone and because they are used to look as natural as possible, they will have a higher priority in Google. Most of the time, I outsource the mininet because I am that lazy. It is a bit pricey but I find it to be worth it.

@ Tsid: You've pretty much got it right but you can always apply your own twists to them. I like to add a link to an outside source or a link back to Google just for the sake of looking natural.

@floaremail: I believe he said that there is a low chance of having your comments accepted and the ones that allow your comments are mostly spammed. I replied that it isn't hard getting approved and there are always fresh blogs out there.

@champu: Yeah I have articles submitted to about 100 directories with backlinks to my newer sites. They were indexed extremely fast and it helped tremendously but the keyword competition was very small. Around 5k broad.

I have to ask though; you mentioned in your OP that you were doing email marketing. You didn't give up on that did you?
I'm only asking because an email list is one of the most powerful things you can have when it comes to marketing. After all, why let search engines be in total control of your income? You never know what can happen from one moment to the next in terms of rankings/algorithms.

If you already have a list, then I would recommend to just keep building on it. =)

@sonicmayhem: Thanks for the support. About email marketing, I haven't stopped it. In fact, I started SEO to try to build my list even further. I figured that with organic traffic, I would get XX-XXX opt ins daily. Once I rank for more keywords, I'm sure I will start seeing results.

@supasta: Linkwheels are usually a series of free blogging sites like blogger, Squidoo, Hubpages that have your own content on them and interlink each other in a wheel-like way. For example, I have 10 pages and a money site.

1 - 2 - 3 - 4 - 5 - 6

6 - 7 - 8 - 9 - 10 - 1

So all links interlink each other and give each other backlinks while also giving your money site backlinks, which makes it very powerful. However, there has been some discussion on how the Linkwheel is losing its power. Google is keen on catching on and some people are turning to mininets now.

Again, it is a series of websites, as many as you want, and they are all randomly internlinked to look like legitimate backlinks with value to them.
