I know its been said and probably been beat up too but, video sharing sites, Good freebie in a PPC campaign, syndication, local SEO and, good ole post Panda and Penguin SEO (PPPSEO). I know they seemed played out but, it doesn't mean they don't work and brother...let me tell you...they work good.
Another reason to always use the alt tag.. which i do not always do, admittedly. Got some editing to do I guess.
What's important to remember is that as the market continues to evolve, it means your own strategies also need to evolve. Staying static is often a killer for lots of websites.

With each post I write, I am copying all the rich text and pasting straight into Word 2007, macros and all, first as a back up and second for a PDF I will one day make available. A "best of blog" eBook with lots of deeplinks back to the original article. I've found out you can embed Youtube videos into a PDF. You can use Adobe flash tools to import or create the .flv - or have the embedded video refer to your Youtube channel. Edit - And another ting - make your content print friendly.
