It's very rare these days that we get to read something that has 'True' value. This is one of those rare articles that actually has value. Not the usual 'How to get 50,000 visits to your website' and then followed by either an outdated or useless 'System' that you have to purchase with your hard earned cash. A lot can be learnt from this superb article..
Well my blog is relatively new and I am learning all tips to get more visitors. Thanks for your ideas.I would love to know how you created free ebook ?
I wrote the first ebook on a document application on my mac and simply saved it as a pdf. (Inserted pictures and a table of contents). Later on I hired an expert in the field to write a second one and then a designer friend turned into an interactive e-book for £50. But if you haven't got much to spend you can simply type one out on google docs, inserting the images, and save it as a pdf.
Hi bluebelt91, here's a really simple and free way to make an ebook.. Download 'Open Office' this is an open source version of MS Office (it's free) Then you write your ebook using the word processor in Open office and save it as a 'PDF' file. Simple!
Ping your blog to all the blog pinging services. share is to social bookmarking websites. Use facebook and twitter and other social networks to promote your blog.
I'm not sure about pinging services any more. After the panda update I checked ours and most were not longer functioning - I have reduced our pinging to two or three major services.
Quite inspiring, I am struggling with this right now and I will definitely take a deep look into your advices. What about link wheel strategies for blog posts? For example: create a killer content blog post, create another "half finished" article and submit to an article directory, with a link to the blog post, then I don't know, share your blog to facebook, facebook to a youtube "inspirational video" related to the topic, and a link back to the article?
Personally I am not so keen on link wheels - I have tried them before in the past and not had much success, but I know some people swear by them.
I agree about adding pictures to the posts. When I first started blogging it was actually on a static website with huge chunks of text. A picture helps break up those monotonous paragraphs. As for guest posts - I do actually accept them as some of them are paid. I have turned down plenty of posts as well however since I want the content to remain high quality and targeted.
PRESS RELEASES. Press releases are a real easy way to get thousands of eyeballs looking at your company. If it’s carefully crafted and newsworthy, you can even get newspaper reporters calling you for a story in their paper. Some of the top press release distribution companies will charge you for the distribution, but there are many free services available as well. LINKS. How do certain companies get to the top of Google for their keyword? Simple. It’s a popularity contest. The more links you have on OTHER people’s pet related sites, the higher your site will rank in Google. So, contact everyone you know (suppliers, customers, professional organizations you belong to) and find out how you can get a link on their website. You don’t want to exchange links, as Google sees the reciprocal relationship and then discounts the link. You want one way links to your site only. FACEBOOK FAN PAGE. Facebook will allow you to set up a “Fan Page†for your business, which is an excellent way to drive traffic to your site. Start by inviting all your friends to join your business fan page. Once they are in, start posting related content on the fan page. When your friends log in to Facebook, your postings will come up in their timeline of posts, and they will (hopefully) make comments about your post. Then their friends will see the comments, and check out your fan page to see what all the talk is about. A great way to get free advertising for your company! TWITTER. People love to forward this around to their friends and contacts, so many other pet lovers find out about me when my followers share my posts. It’s free and easy to build a large base of loyal followers that will go to the places you want them to go! BANNER ADS. Banner ads are a great way to draw visitors from other blogs, forums, or websites without spending big money. It’s actually much cheaper than you think. Find a pet related blog that has the right demographics (right age, right content, etc.) and contact them to see what their rates are for banner advertising. The same goes for popular pet forums and websites. You would be surprised to find out how reasonable the rates really are Hope to share and learn a lot thanks guys
Thanks for the intersting share. I will try and include some of these ideas in promotion of my blog as well.
I also wonder if it helps with SEO. How many spammers can be bother to add images - it has to be a sign of quality which could be taken into account by Google.
Great info... I am similar to you in some aspects like I don't write posts daily, instead I limit to once or twice a week.
