How I got 10,000 RELEVANT views of my Internet marketing video on YouTube

I've had great success with video marketing over the past year, so
I thought I'd share how I managed to drive over 10,000 RELEVANT
YouTube visitors to one of my Internet marketing videos...

Here's the link to the video:

Back in April 2007 I hosted my first major public Internet
marketing seminar in Edinburgh, Scotland. I called the seminar the
"13 Pillars of Internet Marketing", focusing on the 13 key elements
    of an Internet marketing strategy.

I had the seminar filmed, so I decided to make the introduction /
overview section around 10 minutes long - recorded with the
intention of publishing it on YouTube. Thankfully I was spot-on with
my timing - the video is nine minutes and 51 seconds long - just
short of the maximum length allowed for YouTube!

I wanted to optimize the video to appear in YouTube search results
for the phrase 'Internet marketing'. (And I'm pleased to say that
the video has nearly always remained on the first page of YouTube
results for that phrase since I uploaded it over a year ago.)

    Here's how I achieved this:

    1) I included the keyword phrase 'Internet marketing' in the video
    title and video description

Note: If you include your domain at the front of your video
description (in http://www.13pillars.com format), then YouTube will
automatically turn this into a live link. (Remember to try and
include a unique domain as a call to action within the video as
well so you can measure conversion rates)

    2) I bookmarked my YouTube video link on a couple of social
    bookmarking sites

    3) I emailed a list of approximately 1000 people asking for a
favour - I said to people that I'd just uploaded a video and I'd
really appreciate if they could take a look at it - and if they
liked it, add a comment and give it a rating. Around 10 people out
    of the 1000 did this.

And within a month or so I was on the first page of YouTube search
results for the keyword phrase 'Internet marketing'.

That's all it took - 10,000 relevant video views just like that!

Hopefully this will persuade you that if you haven't tried it yet,
you should give video marketing a go too!

P.S. Have you added your comment to the video yet? ;-)
