How I go about selling a CB product.. Am I doing it "right" and not missing something

Ok, I am just wanting to check that I havew the right idea about how to go about it.. I am not talking about being inventive I am talking about the princables of how it generally works in the specific way I have choosen.

So, I pick something off of CB, normally mid gravity (from now on d/l software or ebook no subs) I would then set buy a domain name and have it forward onto my CB hoplink.
Then I would design a squidoo page in a review way, with a slight biased approach, few pictures and some information and of course a link to the domain name I bought (words that are in the title will be highlighted and have links to the domain name) I would then go back through what I have written and put keywords and keyword phrases in the writing and morph them into what i have written about.

I would then set about writing an article in the same way as the squidoo text and then when it becomes live i would sumbit it to places like: delicious, redit, fark, fold, dizzed etc to get it listed better on google rankings.

So :D what needs to be looked at? were am I going wrong?

I am about to start a new campaign and want to improve my performance.

Well firstly it doesn't just work like create a squidoo lens, put some information on it, create some articles, submit some bookmarks. There is a hell of alot more to SEO then that. That said submitting bookmarks has lost alot of the value it once held, as did many other things such as meta tags etc. You should check out www.SEOmoz.org for some basic information about SEO and what affects search engine rankings.

You have to select certain keywords you wish to target and variations of that keyword. A good free keyword tool to use is Google Keyword Tool (https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal) it offers you month to month search volumes for related keywords to that which you type in. Try to target long tail keywords (those that have 3+ words in them) that are more directly related to your product. Choose the keywords you want to rank for and write your articles/squids w/e other platform you're going to use to market your site based around these keywords, the same applies to anchor text amongst many other SEO techniques.

When making a "fake" review don't make it too biased. Say what you disliked about it aswell, but always end on a good note. Personally I'd request a review copy or buy a copy to review properly, people can see through crap and if your review is too off you'll lose your credibility. Don't just think now, think future. Would you like to have a profitable business model emerge? Or do you prefer some quick cash? Generally the profitable business model outweighs the quick cash eventually.

That's just my two cents :). Hope that helps.

thanks for the links and info. I will be sure to put it into practise!

I was using keywords and keyword phrases found via the tool you mentioned, but I guess I need to take a closer look at SEO tactics as there is more to it that one good keyword.
I would only consider buying one of these products I am promoting if I was going to set up a whole site for it or set up a reviewing site with which I would have sub domains reviewing different things.
I am still holding back a little bit as I am not 100% clear on a few things, once I am clearer I will start to spend more money and not just time :)

I would suggest reading a couple dozen more threads in the forum, and then doing a Google search for free affiliate promotional guides...with that information you combined you should be at the "starting point" to really start learning and getting your feet wet!

You general approach to promoting a ClickBank product using a Squidoo Lens is good, though edrectory has some very good points too, especially on keyword research.

Personally, I wouldn't bother with buying a domain that redirects to the hop link, but I guess that's up to you.
