    You can register for a Google Webmasters Account, submit your site in there and then submit a sitemap. Your site will get indexed.

    To get index fast, social bookmarking is one option. Another option is to use RSS feeds if your website is a blog. Sometimes manually submit your site to the search engine takes a long time to get index. The best way is to create backlinks in websites that are well known to the search engines. Doing so, the search engine will get you index almost the same day when the engines visit those websites that you have a backlink to your website. This is the best way I have found so far for getted indexed in search engine

    If your site is old than 3-4 months, you should have been listed in the search engines already. You can check the position of your website using this free position finder tool.
