Good article, but I don't agree that you should submit your site to search engines, it is better to let them find your by themselves.

It is not a good article at all. It contains quite a few pieces of misinformation:

WRONG - get links

WRONG - put them on an established site and they can outrank the original author

All the information has come from DP anyway!

I just wanted to take the time to thank you for this informative article. I just recently started web developing and am trying to generate more traffic and interest in my site. Some of the things you mentioned I already knew, but other things I did not, so I defienetly learned something. Thank you.

I'm not sure you actually read all of my article at all!! A large portion of my article actually advocated getting links and the different ways to go about this. Submitting to search engines is by no means the only thing that you should do, but I do believe that it helps (or at least can't hurt!).

Furthermore, I didn't just say forget about free articles completely like you seem to think! If you continued to read, you'd find I said put them on an established site (like you suggested!) just don't put them on a new site!

And not all the information came from DP (by any stretch), I just received a lot of help and advice from here.

But I'm not sure why I'm bothering to respond because you obviously didn't read all of it and just quoted sentences out of context.
