I just wrote a super detailed step by step guide on how i generated $1,700,000 in auto sales using local affiliate marketing. I'd like to invite you to read it and learn. No cost or catch: http://www.adhustler.com/how-i-generated-over-1-million-in-auto-sales-despite-a-weak-economy/
Interesting read. I think most people will read it and think... too much work. I read it and thought... lots of opportunity if you are networked locally with business owners.
Nice idea, working at a dealership, I do see cars that don't ever sell! I just might have to try it...
Can you give us a ballpark idea of the return you made from this? Over 30k in ad spend is pretty massive.
Let's see... If he sold 68 vehicles at $25k that's $1,700,000. Assuming these cars are obviously brand new they are probably marked down to invoice price. Perhaps even cutting into hold back. If the dealer profitted $1,500 between frontend and back end the total gross profit was $102,000 and net profit like $70k after advertising costs. If you broke this down to a 12 month period of time dealer paid only $2,700 a month in advertising and tripled their money. $30k in advertising is nothing in this scenario. With dealerships able to bump the interest rate within a 2.5% margin and pad the back with aftermarket services it's easy to make big bucks.
