Many people have been wondering how to keep a high CTR on adsense with niche sites. So here are a few tips to keep in mind: Blend your ads with the theme color. If you sites theme is red, then make your adsense ads red. Use Premium Ad Placement - If you don't know what this is then search something like "ad placement heat map" on Google When you're doing your keyword research you need to pick high converting keywords that have a high amount of advertisers targeting those keywords. Actually look at some of your competitors sites and see what ads are showing up. If my keyword is "red apples" and the ads that show up are not about apples, then your CTR is not going to be that high. Write good content. If you have crappy content, especially in your first few sentences, then people will immediately leave your page. So always use good relevant content. Once you find a good keyword that converts - Dominate the Niche! Find out what long tail keywords your competitors are targeting and ranking for and outrank them. The fact is, if one keyword has a high CTR, then it's likely that other keywords within that niche also have a high CTR because the same laser targeted advertisers are hitting those keywords as well.
I would add also the type of audience to keep in mind, having a mainly non technical audience is a factor to keep higher CTR more easily.
Quality content is always the game changer no matter if you have the best backlinks or the best domain!!
Yea, I would definitely say that that is true. I have noticed that niches that deal with technology get lower CTR. These guys spend a lot more time in front of computers and have more ad blindness.
Now there's something new that I learned today. When I think about it, you are absolutely right. People who are constantly using the computer or the net are already blind to the ads so we should keep in mind the type of viewers who will be viewing our sites. I should dwell more on niches that caters to people who are not so into tech or the web. Time to do some research. thanks again for this one!
Yea, there are a lot of good niches out there that have really high CTR, i'm talking about 20-30%. Once you've found them - you can Dominate them and make quite a bit of money with not a lot of work. That's what happened with us.
@ JoshMosa - Some Valuable Fact About The Content And About CTR & Ad Placement I Appreciate Your Points
Interesting stuff, i thought google ads already target what ads are placed on ur site in terms of your niche though
We could also add a way to increase CTR is by producing content which attracts visitors in the mindset of finding a solution to a problem, small or big, a cure to fix or ease the issue, whatever it is. If you can also focus on urgencies, it will also increase CTR on ads. If you take this guideline into account when choosing your next content to produce, and if you make sure the content could be interesting to people searching online with that problem-solving/help-seeking mindset, then I believe your overall CTR will increase when the traffic to this type of content pages will grow. But yes it is a long shot, not a quick fix like improving ad placement.
I think I have read about this tips elsewhere. I have playing with the color and yes it really help a lot.
Yes, Google ads do target your main key terms for the site. That's a great suggestion. If people take the time and effort to do the keyword research to make that happen, i'm sure it will work.
