Before I begin - I would like to thank all here on this adsense forum you have been a great source of information. I've learnt more from this group of friendly folks than any other forum - Drinks on me I have been with adsense coming up to 12 months now. First month just made the limit for payment - now my bottom line is 5+ times that. Recently (this month) my bottom line doubled again - Here is what worked for me. Delete adsense from low impression and low CTR pages Added adlink (4) under my banner at top
title and first paragraph
that contain my keywords Alt tagged all my images with keywords Opted for the "Advertise on my site" Changed my negative links words to more positive ones eg: 'Elvis Funeral' now 'Elvis 16 Aug 1977' - 'Elvis Eulogy' now 'Elvis Remembered' etc Changed square ads to larger size 336 x? Now if adsense would pay me the correct conversion rate (see recent payment stuff up) would be a very happy little Aussie camper indeed... Thanks again to all... much appreciate
My Elvis sites were created years before I even had any affiliate programs. During those years I acquired 5 thousand subscribers to my newsletter and many return visitors... so my (high) traffic was already established. And my sites rank in the top ten for every one of my major keywords. Today I get on an average of 18 - 26 thousand impressions (adsense stats only) daily which triples on Elvis calendar date such as birthday in January and death in August. When I started with adsense I thought just having huge traffic would achieve income... soon to learn that this is not the case. To have adsense you have to learn how best to optimise your site. That brought me here to this forum... where I read, read and read and what I didn't understand I asked... and this group here was only too pleased to help me with even my dumbest questions. So take heart newbies .... it may take time... but if you are serious about earning a decent income... just try everything and anything offered here. Test, test and test... what works for some doesn't always work for others. Good luck.... and thanks again...
My Dad and I are HUGE Elvis fans - just wanna congratulate you on your earnings as well as your fantastic site!
Thank you for your wonderful feedback "dlcmh" great to hear there are some Elvis fans here. Further would like to add that all the points I mentioned in my initial post were a direct result of implementing the suggestions from this forum. However, I do believe I still have a lot to learn...
Thanks for sharing, ElvisFan. But FYI, your biography site's Chitika ads at the bottom is partially hidden on Firefox. It would be a good idea to test your sites on both IE and Firefox.
Thanks for the tips. This proves that you have to constantly make changes and test how those changes affect your bottom line.
I can see removing ads from low CTR pages, but I don't think there's any benefit from removing them from low impression pages. Some of my low impression pages give me my highest CTR; 100%-200%! (Congrats, BTW!)
