    Hello Everybody,

I have a Pc & I install windows 7 Pro (original copy) on it. Now I buy a new Laptop & I want to install that same OS on it. But I do not want to purchase new license for two PCs & I am ready to uninstall OS from my old PC.

So that means I just want to run only single copy of the OS with single serial key, I just want to switch it from old PC to my new Laptop.

Can someone please guide me that how I can make it possible.

    Thanks in advance,

    Jimmy

According to me you cannot change the system. The licence is with the available with pc and you cannot move it so deactivate it. You should call Microsoft to activate it to laptop .

Do you understand what a license is?

You agree to the terms of the license when you buy the product.

Is the Windows 7 version OEM or Retail? If it is Retail you can transfer it! This is the reason because of which the Retail version is always more expensive. If you do not know if the Windows 7 version that you own is retail or oem then I can provide further assistance.

    Hello jimmy4feb,

Your best bet is a clean new installation to avoid any problems. Regrettably, you will have to re-install most of your programs.

Backup all of your data to an external hard drive or flash drive.

Install clean installation of Windows 7 and then keep the Windows 7 Product key. You can activate it via Phone Activation system and at the same time, the copy on the so called "old computer" *your old windows system is deactivated.
    Phone Activation system
    ================================================
    1. Click the Start button, type "SLUI.EXE 4" (without the quotation marks) in the search box, and press “Enter”.
    2. Select the neatest location, and click "Next".
    3. Please click "Continue" when the User Account Control dialog-box appears.
    4. The Windows Activation will generate a toll-free phone number. And the installation ID will be displayed in the following format:
    xxxxxx – xxxxxx – xxxxxx – xxxxxx – xxxxxx – xxxxxx – xxxxxx – xxxxxx – xxxxxx
    5. Call the number to activate Windows 7.

Let me know how it goes!

Don't you copy it to a disk than install it to other computer?
