firstly Rev. Pat Robertson doesnt represent the christian thought & definitely does not reprsent every other community religion. comparing his statement / viewpoint is grossly wrong.
secondly, having seen the religion closeup not just based on the written book but how it is practiced in reality , the hijab/ burqa is the most oppresive thing for women to have. Everytime i see a young girl covered head to to in that black burkha , i feel really sad for her, specially beause its way too fu(king hot here :p

Prof. Dr. Friedrich Hacker was the adviser and psychologist during the negotiations that time and wrote a great book based on this event.

I can't find any English title
In German - "Freitheit die sie meinen"

Isn't Stockholm Syndrome loyalty to the captor, not the captor's religion?

And Procrastinator, "secondly, having seen the religion closeup not just based on the written book but how it is practiced in reality" where did you see this? and who are you to say that every Muslim in the world practices in the way you have observed? Also, "not just based on the written book"; the whole religion is based on the Quran. Thats like saying, I have seen Christianity close up not just whats in the Bible, and if we are to go that way, then I have seen the KKK and they are deplorable so Christianity is horrible... Doesn't sound right does it? Put the shoe on the other foot.

Also Procrastinator, I wonder how you can say that Robinson didn't represent the Christian thought at the time, but you believe that some of the more radical Muslims show the Islamic thought of our time. Just wondering...

lol...the exact response i was expecting......

well lets have a look at most famous suspected stockholm cases....

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stockholm_syndrome

these are the total cases reported which are suspected (not sure)to suffer from stockhome. Now interesting pattern to observe.

Almost all kidnaped persons are of very young age (immature) and held for very long time period (many years).

Yvonney was not immature (a top journalist of UK) and was held for only few days. Plus the same wikipedia did not include Yvonney as the suspected case which you are reffering from.

More generally it is loyalty to the group of captors, and their organization, which you quickly begin to sympathize with. It doesn't matter if the group is "the 37th Luisiana states Militia", Green peace, a bank robbing gang, or a group of people that say they are the representatives of their religion. If I were to use brainwashing techniques on someone while claiming to represent the religion of... oh... um... Huzinfluzinflartzin, and my co-captors were fellow Huzinfluzinflartzins, and we were doing this to you and capturing you because our glorious lord Huzinfluz decreed we must, and you developed loyalty to me, and the rest of the group, that would include loyalty to the larger organization, and you would be likely to convert to Huzinfluzinflartzinism.

    Two words: voluntary slavery.

Some people would rather just accept the lies than deal with the truth.

Those are the total cases reported. Are you sure of this? Have any "proves" to offer or should I just take your word for it? And because this Yvonne is not listed in wikipedia means what exactly?

    LONDON

I used to look at veiled women as quiet, oppressed creatures -- until I was captured by the Taliban. In September 2001, just 15 days after the terrorist attacks on the United States, I snuck into Afghanistan, clad in a head-to-toe blue burqa, intending to write a newspaper account of life under the repressive regime. Instead, I was discovered, arrested and detained for 10 days. I spat and swore at my captors; they called me a "bad" woman but let me go after I promised to read the Koran and study Islam. (Frankly, I'm not sure who was happier when I was freed -- they or I.)

Back home in London, I kept my word about studying Islam -- and was amazed by what I discovered. I'd been expecting Koran chapters on how to beat your wife and oppress your daughters; instead, I found passages promoting the liberation of women. Two-and-a-half years after my capture, I converted to Islam, provoking a mixture of astonishment, disappointment and encouragement among friends and relatives.

    Ha, ha, ha ........

    Ha, ha, ha, ......

The Taliban - the good guys. Ha, ha, ha .... Which korun she read?

If you read his post, he never said "all" muslims were in the taliban. The OP is about a women captured by the taliban and how she now thinks the taliban are da bomb.

Her family betraid her. And muslims think it's OK.

Imagine children all over the world grow up in such families where the wife was forced to marry her husband she didn't like. What kind of world would it be?

Murder Investigation Leads to Prostitution Network – Whose Profits Supported Al-Qaeda

The investigator for the case of the murder of a German national in Sharja, U.A.E. has revealed the existence of a prostitution network whose profits were used to support al-Qaeda.

The network was headed by an American Muslim, Shahid King Bullis, who confessed to killing the German national and to running the prostitution network.

Investigators have found material including instructions for manufacturing poisons.

Bullis's cellphone was found to contain photos of him in bed with very young girls.

Because a poll on al jazeera last summer showed that 50% of muslims polled supported bin laden? Food for thought.
