I don't know what your blogs or website has on it, but have you branded them nicely and marketed them to drive traffic?

What is interesting is that this post is 2 years old. The 10 reasons purewebdev gave for mistakes made promoting Amazon were relevant way back then, and most certainly are relevant now. Nice post!!

What I also found interesting was that the links in purewebdev's sig aren't any good. Might want to check them out purewebdev:)) I was going to check it out but couldn't get to your site. You all still in business?

I have been working on an idea that your service sounds perfect for. Same question as buz, are you still in business? This thread is pretty old, and just want to get an idea of what things are like now. Your website does seem to have some problems.

I have a bunch of wordpress sites setup to sell amazon products but only made sales the last three months of 2010. Sold about $3000 worth of products. Now I have to wait till christmas to roll around again and renew my domains this summer which aren't making me a dime thur the slow time of year. Have a little coming from adsense ads but not enough to pay my hosting and domain renewals. One thing I won't do is pay for advertising my sites. Amazon doesn't pay that good of commissions to justify me spending money to get the extra traffic I need. Wish I could think of something to draw in some more income while I wait for people to start buying again for christmas season.

You need to work on products that you can advertise year round, not just on Christmas. I have been a Amazon Associate for several years but only recently started trying to drive Amazon traffic. I've made a few sales but its not consistent. Most of income comes from Adsense where I am making almost $400/mo. so I am trying to get Amazon income higher now. I know if I can sell a popular item 7 times a month at say $35-50, I can use these to get the Amazon commissions up to atleast 7% and then sell products that are $150+ at the higher commission rate.

Amazon is one of the very best ways to make money as an affiliate!! But there are certain ways you should do things to really make it work. I see many people doing it the wrong way. I love building Amazon sites and every one of them makes money, and a few of them are not very old. Guys and gals, Amazon is terrific. I built a site based around a very popular item on October 28th, I was on the first page of Google in about 25 days and the sales were GREAT! But....I got sand boxed for about a month....that cost me thousands with this site. This site next year, well even today, will make strong sales. It doesn't take much to do well with Amazon.

There are so many strategies for building Amazon sites...but the MAIN thing...get them built and get them to rank. My site I built on October 28th is now ranked on the first page of Google for SEVEN different keyword phrases. The sales for this will be really good this year and probably into the medium four digits a month next holiday season. If I can do it anyone can. So build them, get them to rank... and then make adjustments if needed. By the way, the site I talked about is for sale...but i am not familiar with selling a site.

One more point, it is NOT hard at all to get to the higher commission levels. In fact it is pretty easy.

You only need to sell 31 items to get to the 6.5% commission level and 110 to get to the 7%. I know many people think that is hard, I did also, but really it is not.

I have a site that routinely sells over 20 items a day, so obviously it only takes six days to reach the 7% commission level.

I used to think that building the sites and making money with Amazon was hard. IT is not. You just have to put the work in.

Find the products, get the site built, make sure you have strong call to actions so they can click your affiliate links, and get them ranked. Spend most of your time building them right to start out with as far as SEO then the rest of the time building backlinks to the domain and internal pages.

You might just be amazed at how well that works. This stuff does not need to be complicated.

And one other thing...the GREAT thing about Amazon is that even though the cookie is only 24 hours....when people go there they have a tendency to buy lots of other things.

I have a watch site that sold a $2500 HD TV the other day!!! Gotta love Amazon!

This is not the place to put this but I am fairly new to this forum, are there are there any threads that someone could point out to me on how to properly sell a site?
