I just signed up with adwords and I'm not sure how high I should big my keywords. My site is just about making money online with Gpt sites and paying surveys. I make a good bit of money with them. I'm sure people promoting work at home sites that are selling something, bid pretty high. The sites I promote are free to join, so I don't want to spend a tremendous amount on adwords to promote them and lose money. What's a good bid?
Quality Score of your keywords will determine the bid for you, it will tell the minimum bid that you need to pay to appear in sponsored links. If you want to appear in higher positions then you will have to bid more
If you can work out how much money you make from each click on average (profit per conversion * conversion rate) then you know the maximum that you can bid and make money. When you set up your campaign, you'll get a minimum bid. Assuming that your breakeven point is above your minimum bid, then run the advert in different places (with different bids) and work out the most profitable position for you. Once you've done that, start working to improve the quality score, the clickthrough rate and the conversion rate, and recalculate your sweet-spot. There's a blog about it here: http://www.epiphanysolutions.co.uk/google-adwords/ppc-advertising-where-is-the-sweet-spot.html
Check your bids and raise it slowly every other day! Check you average position and decide if its cost effictive for you!
