I have a new site that has really taken a hit these last couple of days. Guess link building is only answer.

*knock on wood* mine are doing even greater than before.

Unique stuff, patience and relentless effort seems to get awarded.

I have not noticed any huge ranking changes in the past month or so at all, just the usual ups and downs that you expect.

my new site was blown away from the SERPS like 2 weeks ago... never returned, we'll see.
I believe it will all work out in the end.

Hang in there - time seems to be a big factor - I am getting 5X as many visitors/month as this time last year. And every month I am getting 15-20% more tahn the previous month.

Took a dip during the algo update which was then rectified with patience and back to pretty much where I was pre-update so no real change apart from the normal small shifts up n down.

Seventeen sites unaffected; one site completely hammered.

My main site has tanked. I'm getting ready for a complete redesign to make the content more appealing to googlebot. Right now, I think the layout is what's hurting me. What gets me is that I own Y & msn in the rankings, but I'm not feeling the love from G anymore :(

Any idea what might have caused the site that was hit to take a dive in the SERPs?

2 sites out of the sandbox with primaries around 200 and secondary terms between 30-80. Not much traffic at this stage, but I'm happy.

    Big update?

    When? I missed it........

None of my first page serp positions changed, I did have one site and keyword combo come out of the sandbox a few days ago, appearing in the 130's. Been sandboxed for well over a year. Was that the big update? Same site with a different keyword still nowhere to be found.

Mine didn't change at all - perhaps it was too soon for me, as my sites launched only 2 weeks before the update.

One site gained a ton of page one results (from page 3 and beyond). KW's that were already page one (#7,8,9's) moved up to #1's, 2's and 3's.

Second site moved from #700 to #300 in the SERP's but it has issues that were only recently addressed. I see big moves up for this one in future updates.

I'm not seeing any fluctuations at the moment.

oh, Bourbon update, I see a thread on it now. I tend to spend time with my kid and not read the forums daily when my sites are doing well. Need to keep up with things and stay in the loop!

For the only two sites I really work (totally unrelated to one another) one stayed at #2 and the other moved from #5 (sometimes #6) to a steady #4 on all DCs as well as HotBot, AOL, A9, Prog, etc.

For the one that moved to #4, the three sites above of me are all 8 - 10 years old, with lots of great links (bunch of .edu's) and lots of content.

So, I'm very pleased to be in that crowd at the top, and well above the fold. :)
