For you SEO experts how hard do you think it would be to rank for, "Dog Training" with a brand new domain. I am thinking with some hard work (daily) and the right strategy this could be done in 1-1.5 years. Any other ideas?
I am no expert but I would say you have the right mindset to be patient. Dog training is a broad term so it will definitely take time to rank on the first page of google if that is your goal. I would research the sites on the first page of google and look at how many links they have, how old they are. Are they SEO optimized for that keyword, do they have the keyword in the URL, tittle tag? Good luck
To do SEO for that keyword be patient and do your regular activities on your site. Hope for the better results.
You might want to pick some long tail versions of the keyword e.g. "dog training dvd" etc This will give you some faster results whilst moving you towards your end goal of "dog training"
First you choose which type keywords for website…which have low competition. while this target competition then after you select your most target keywords.
No need to worry!! If you fallow the systematically off page optimazition process, could be done within 7-8 months. Good luck.
Never say Never...If u are patient and have the volume to do this, than go further, if not, than stay there where you are now, but from a screenshot above, i think it will be to dificoult for you...
It is possible in a month imho But then I do SEO and we once had the best trained puppy in Britain (voted by dog training instructors) and I used to go to Dog Club every monday night, my parents did dog training demonstrations and the demonstration team practised where my Dad works so I know a lot about both dog training and SEO!
It depends on the kind of content that you are going to put into this page. There are a ton of good sites out there under this keyword, is your site going to be a better resource than all these put together? Best thing I can suggest, and this is without going into specific SEO strategies (SEO is an individual thing, learn it for your business rather than someone elses business imo), pick winnable long tail keywords. Go hard on them. Make sure that you are starting to see results on those keywords. If you go hard on your main keyword, its going to make it easier for your competition to see you coming. So, ride those long tails hard, then when it comes down to the crunch and you have dominated those keywords, it will make ranking for your main keyword a bit easier. Space it out over a year or more and you should be able to get some god results. I mean, it looks like you have the right mindset already, which is highly unusual to see in DP mind you! LOL But yeah, take it slow, dominate your long tail first, pick keywords that are buying phrases and easy to dominate.
How about you go for breed + training for example: red setter training, Irish Setter training, bulldog training?
I'd assuming it'll take 2+ years, personally. Dog Training has 48 million results. The odds of you breaking into the top of it with less than 4000 backlinks is unlikely. 18 months might be doable tho.
