It has taken me over 2 years to go from a PR0 to PR5. How hard will it be to get a PR6?

I think very hard to jump from PR0 - PR6 having seen some of the very big names in the industry getting a PR6 and not above tells you how tough it is. But if you have already achieved a PR5 then getting to PR6 wont take you long just keep up the link building work you were following and you will get to PR6 in an year or so.

Yes, we can get pr0-5 easily, but it is hard to get PR6 and it is hard to secure it.
You may see that, DP has PR6 sometimes back, but now, it is PR4. So, after getting it, you hve to maintain it, that is the main thing to be considered...

    Depends on your site subject

For example a website that sells scripts had his sell page (subpage) PR6 in 3 months without to much promotion. That's because they have usefull content not found anywhere on the net. Don't think google is stupid, they recognise value where it is.

Yup agree getting to the top is not that tough but maintaining your position there is the real business.

Also agree you would surely get links if you offer something that is really useful to your visitors.

If you can get lucky/clever and get a couple of links from authority type sites you may well get PR6 quite easily, but that can be difficult and short-lived.

Why are you aiming for PR6? it won't make much different to your SERPS but I suppose will increase the value of your site.

Having an open-source website should be nothing hard to achieve pr 6-7
But for a personal website, etc. it simply needs budget for buying high pr backlinks

Well it can also improve his SERPs in this way - when you keep on building high quality links to your website to improve your PR you are getting quality links which is a major factor also for improving SERPs.

I am quite a good photographer and about a year ago set up a blog to show off my work. I commented on a few other photo blog sites and in within about 2 months i had a page rank 5 site. I was quite lucky and did not realise the significance of this at the time, however the good page rank had little impact on my traffic, all my visits still came from other sites not google, even though i know i had optimized well.

It's not hard to get PR6 I have a site with under 200 links and it's PR 6 try getting to 7 that's where it starts to get tough one of my PR 7 sites has over 100,000 links and it just got up there at the start of this year, it's 3 years old.
Always remember though PR does not increase traffic or serps.
It's just a green line on a tool bar

Getting a PR 2-3 or 4 is not a big task..even a blog with 2-3 month can have PR 4 but its very hard to get 5 or 6 PR. I don't know when I will get more then PR 4 :(

None move up from PR 3... you must built good links for your site that it reaches PR 5. The general philosophy of getting PR is The more you build links the more you get PR, Normally a site having sound links from high PR & (Related) sites get PR 6 easily. but it seems me that maintains PR 6 in a long run is the real task. most of the site go down after reaching PR 6 ..A VERY FEW GO UP

I think it is due to the content your site own,if it is useful for people,go on to update it,your site will go to PR6,and you should link exchange with some high pr site which is relevant with yours.

I will say to increase PR5 to PR6 is more difficult than increase PR0 to PR5.
Anyway, keep on work on it, and you will able to achieve PR6 in one day

You have done well to get PR 5, and it is very hard to get PR6 from PR5. It needs more time and effort. Go on trying~~

I don't think it would be too much hard !
Get some high PR backlinks and you will get it easily as soon as PR updates ! :)
