say your going for a certian keyword yet this site already has one of these google listings in SE rankings, what are the chances of overtaking this in google?

How much do these listings in google even cost?

    thanks

You can't buy listings like that, Google just gives them to authority sites.

Given that they are given to 'trusted sites' it is hard to overtake them. But what you need to know is the trust of your own domain and keywords you are targeting. Without that we can't help you much either. For some keywords you can probably overtake them in the serps.

Yes, you can't buy those kind of listing, is not for sale. You CAN get them if your site is trusted and have hugh number of pages. So, get higher rankings and lots of pages. Usually i see this kind of listing on sites that have millions of pages and G shows the top 5 popular links.

A start would be to buy the oldest or most appropriate domain you can afford

Thanks for the link. That is very helpful. I hope Google will allow webmaster inputs soon because it is for sure that Google will not make their algorithms public

if a site has those kinds of links underneath they are THE authority for that word. you will probably not overtake them. ever.
