I just checked two of my websites that I started late February and early March. They got PR4 and PR2. I'm just curious how my site got PR4 because I didn't put much effort into getting backlinks or marketing it. All that I can think of is maybe a dozen backlinks I got from adding dofollow anchored text links on relevant forums I already participated in. Plus one backlink from a similar PR6 website. It surprised me, actually. Not that it maters much, since I only get about 30 visitors a day. How much harder is it to go from PR4 to PR5? Is it about equivalent of going from PR0 to PR4?
One of my website stay at PR4 for more than one year, not yet achieve the PR5. The difficulty for PR4 to PR5 is harder compare to PR0 to PR4
Pr 5 eh .. from Pr 4, you probably need twice the amt of work you put in ur link building, or just get a PR 6 - 7 to link to you !
Its become quite difficult to get a PR5 but easier to get a PR 4.. Earlier the difference between 4 and 5 was narrow. Most of sites were 5.. but now majority are PR 4.. U need abput 2 or 3 PR 6ers that too from sites without too many outbounds..
A PR 4 or 5 really won't effect your rankings for particular keywords. It used to though. Just get links with your keywords in it and your rankings will increase.
Getting upto PR3 is not a big issue .. after that is very hard... even quality inks also not helps much...
It was easier earlier, But its getting more tough to achive PR4 even and PR5 is a really tight one. But can be done with few PR6-7 links, and that is pretty tough, Im sure.
each PR level is 8x harder to get to than the last, so whatever you did to get to PR4, you'll need 8x that to achieve PR5.
It's not pretty hard.. all you need to get some quality backlinks.. post quality and unique content in your blog... that encourages high pagerank blogs to link to your site.
The secret is get a backlink from PR05 blog. (blogspot or wordpress) Your site may achive a good PR in next update all of my sites that only have backlinks from one of my PR05 site has got PR03 within just a one month. without any harder SEO works.
The most important thing is not PR it's about your visitors. One of my site has just 10 visitors per week (it's me!) with rank of PR03. huntpeople.ws
Do a search for "how many backlinks to pagerank 5" and you should be able to see what it takes to reach each level. I'm not sure that compounding by 8x is an accurate assessment of levels but it's close enough. PR5 seems to have become the new wall to jump. I had a PR5 for years that got knocked back to a 4 in that last massive reroll yet nothing had changed "back link-wise"... 1 backlink from any site will be an auto PR 2 levels down. 1 PR5=PR3 1PR10=PR8 and so on... 18 PR# are the level equivalent, so if you have 18 PR5 backlinks then your site will become a PR5. Add in the combinations of your back links rankings to assess where your site should/will be. Cheers
