How hard is it to build a site using wordpress

    Wordpress is so easy. Once you learn a little CSS and PHP it is even easier to change the look and really make it cook.

    I don't know much of either but am able to get what I want out of it very easily.

    As everyone has already mentioned, wordpress is very simple - and it looks professional right out of the box.

    However, there is something else to keep in mind: how good are you a debugging script? I've had a few wordpress blog templates in the past, and they worked great - to a point. But the bigger my sites got, and the more customization I wanted to do, the more complicated it became. It even got to the point that I was afraid to upgrade to the latest versions, for fear that I would wreck my site if something went wrong.

    I still think it's a great way to start. But if you have the time, a regular (hand-built) template might be better. That way, you'll know the template inside and out, and debugging it will be easier when you run into problems.
